Minnesota finally has a season where they are a top seed, and now this.

Nets Ben Simmons out for season with back injury, seeking treatment.

Man that really sucks for them, they were already a little bit light on offense. Their defense was good enough to cover it, but now this could get rough. Doesn't seem likely that he'd be back for the postseason unless they go pretty deep.

Minnesota was one the the two teams I felt most pessimistic about getting past in the playoffs, that leaves only Denver as the other team. If the seeding works out, I can now see a possible path to NBA finals. Not a probable path, just a possible one.

Naz Reid can score more. But he can't create shots like Towns. Reid might be a better rebounder. Conley Jr. can probably be a little more aggressive too.

I am not saying this to start or resume an conference quality discussion.
Just a funny, random day observation.
The top 8 teams in the West are on a winning streak.
7 out of 8 top teams in the East are on a losing streak.

Great! Now it seems like we are on the verge of the same ol ... same ol injury collapse ourselves? I hope none of these are serious and just "precautionary" resting.
"James Harden (left shoulder strain), Kawhi Leonard (left groin soreness), and Paul George (left knee soreness) are questionable for Saturday’s game against the Bulls."

They're protesting the back to back matinee games. I doubt any of these guys miss both today and tomorrow.

Gotta admit, this is garbage. Shai's game is awesome, but I have noticed even in blow outs he always gets to 30 points and then they'll take him out. He's also become one of the worst offenders for foul baiting.

Most people either dribble out the clock, or let the other team dribble out the clock, with 20 seconds or less.
This should go up there with the Bob Sura and Ricky Davis triple double attempts, where they intentionally tried to miss a shot so they could get a rebound.
The NBA took away the rebound, in each case, because they said a field goal attempt is defined as a shot attempt that is aimed at the basket.
Can't find a video of the Bob Sura one right now.

That's going to be a mixed result in the playoffs.
Some games are called with a lot less fouls. So the Durant / Harden types get to the foul line less.
Some games have a player with 21+ FTs.
I remember when Paul Pierce went 21/21.
