He is a Center in today's NBA. He's not tall, but he is strong enough to play it. Kind of like how Draymond is 6'6 and guards Jokic. Theis isn't going to do great, but I can't really think of any bench Centers who are going to hang with Jokic. I think if we had to choose, we'd be better off with 2 Centers and a PF who can play small ball Center than 3 Centers and not the tweener 4/5. Assuming they are similar in value. Then you still have 2 guys who can guard the Centers still, with the PF/C maybe filling in as the emergency back up while that guy still being able to guard perimeter players on switches or the Aaron Gordon/Towns/Chet types if needed. Kawhi can do it if we need him to, but you'll need someone to do it when he's out of the game or if you'd rather have him on a perimeter guy. Speaking of Draymond, he is one of the guys on the trading block, and one of the guys potentially in a Tucker and Plumlee and a Pick trade. Draymond has his issues, but this seems like a terrible return for him. The Warriors and Steph really suffered with him out.

I guess Kelly Olynyk is on the list of potential trade targets too? That trade would not need to involve Plumlee. Tucker, ANY other contract (less than $1M needed), and then the negotiation over picks. But, again, this is all people just speculating I think.

Siakam wasn't realistic for us. He wants max money and there's just no way for us to pay him along with PG/Harden/Kawhi and have any hope to still have any roster around those guys so you'd also be saying bye to Zu, Norm, Mann etc. I also don't think he fits us that well anyway. I was only saying that whimsically, not seriously, of course that would not be realistic. On the other hand, I disagree that he would not fit, I think he would be terrific on this team. But that's moot.

Theis isn't a center. He's more of a PF. He's 6'8. He wouldn't be able to battle with Jokic. Zu can't battle with Jokic for an entire game. We've seen that movie before. We need both Zu and Plumlee. Every time Zu went out we got killed on the glass.

Every time Zu went out we got killed on the glass. If we're playing a guard in place of Zu, I'm vehemently against that but if we still have Theis and traded for a PF who rebounds well then it's something worth looking at. I definitely don't think it's something we have to do though. Plumlee was great last night, if we keep getting that guy then I wouldn't be in any rush to trade him. We have 3 more weeks to really see too so in some ways the injury happening now instead of earlier (or later) is somewhat of a blessing.
