Zubac hook shot to start the game. What a brilliant play call, shades of 1999 when the clips would start the game with a post up for the kandiman

Sacro leads by 7 at the half. They've got 5 more rebounds and thus took 5 more shots and 2 more free throws and that's the difference.
Clips shooting terrible from three, and only 5 FTAs. Sacro has most Clipper shots taken under pressure. The Clippers have to reverse the pressure balance if they are to wind the 2nd half.
Kawhi and Zub playing well.

Huerter starts the 3rd quarter in charge and the Kings now have a 15 point lead. Clips still looking sleepy.

I hate to question this of a player, but does Russ put the work in that he used to? He has no touch at all.

That was pretty unpleasant. We're looking bad lately. Real bad. I have no faith in most of our bench. I'd prefer what we were getting from Bones earlier than what we get from Westbrook now. We still need a PF.

I hate to question this of a player, but does Russ put the work in that he used to? He has no touch at all. He's a loose cannon out there. He can't even make layups anymore, I don't think that's lack of work. And I don't think it's age because he has incredible speed and quickness. He just doesn't play disciplined. He's not careful, he's not focused. He's playing like a rookie who doesn't know his strengths and weaknesses.

Lue made the mistake of starting Powell. Should have gone w Boston jr. Keep Powell & Coffey on the bench.
Maybe we reached our peak.

He's not careful, he's not focused. He's playing like a rookie who doesn't know his strengths and weaknesses. I had a theory that while he does still have speed/quickness/athleticism in spades, maybe the little bit less he has now gets him just a few inches or half step behind his peak and he can't finish with any touch. Some of these layups in the past were probably dunks and even for lay ups, a good finisher would finish from those spots but he just can't. But after checking his shot %'s from 0-3 feet and he's pretty much the same as he has been for his career. He shoots just under 60% from 0-3 feet. Obv big guys are going to rank towards the top for this kind of stat. Luka is surprisingly great too, given that while he's big he's not a super athlete. Kawhi and Durant are also elite. Anyways back to Russ, it's just weird that someone that plays a lot of basketball has that kind of touch. I wonder if there's more to it. He also used to shoot free throws low to mid 80's but is now mid 60's.

Russ has shot 29% since the Allstar break. He must of done too much of something to lose his concentration. On the season he's having his 2nd best career FG% so I don't think there is an ongoing problem with his training.

If it was my call - the guy we'd be playing more in the scenario of Paul George missing a game or so - is Jordan Miller. He's a basketball player. Brandon Boston is a joke. Not even good enough to be a tease. Or I'd have Plumlee and Theis in there - anything and I mean anything is better than PJ Tucker. What a joke. He bitched and Ty Lue puts him in. 30 seconds in a game for him is way too long.
