Mavs game basically tied right now. If Mavs lose, I expect we will see a lot more of our g-leaguers playing.

Wow. I got up at 5:30am, spent my day with peoples who have family fighting in war, going to work puking from cancer, survived an airplane crash, got a spinal drip, found out their child is autistic, and watched a friend's drug addict brother be headline at the comedy club, and I get home after midnight and find out the Clippers don't have enough heart to beat a hobbled Jazz team at home. Weak sauce. Really. Other teams win.

Standings had been fixed earlier that evening so we played out third stringers and g-leaguers for most of the game.

They had lost 13 straight and were playing their G-League with us playing for a chance to finish above .500. No heart on our part.....We played starters, you guys didn't. We may still get to .500 since I don't see you guys players for most of the game if not at all Sunday evening. Sorry to hear about your cancer, prayers are with you.

It meant something for the Warriors, Kings, and Lakers, and only the Lakers won. (LeBron, at age 105, played 41 minutes!)

Don't forget the Nuggets likely just blew home court to the Spurs. Our 3rd stringers are bad, I don't know how the Suns let them hang around.

And Nuggets have one of the most important home court advantages in professional sports due to altitude. It was an incredibly stupid thing to not take that game seriously.

It seems to matter more in the regular season.
Probably not as much when there's 2, 3, sometimes 4 days off between games, and opposing teams have more time to get acclimated.
They lost a game 7 against Portland at home in 2019. They lost a series where they had home court against Golden State in 2013.
When they played the Spurs in 2005 and 2007, they won game 1 on the road, and lost the series in 5, losing both home games. Both years.
They lost a series against Utah in 2010 where they had homecourt, in the first round.
And I've said a few times that teams with one All-Star rarely repeat or go deep in the playoffs. If they had 2 or 3 All-Stars, then they would be more formidable.
If we cheat a little and say Gobert is Minnesota's 2nd All-Star (he probably got enough coaches' votes to be close to making it), they seem better equipped for a deeper run, to me.
Lastly, there's 82 games in a season. Denver should not have played below what they think they could, earlier.
I don't know how much I trust this data. I'm surprised Golden State has played more home games than Chicago. But if it's true, and we eliminate the defunct teams:
Sort by win %.
Los Angeles Lakers Golden State Warriors
Boston Celtics Chicago Bulls Oklahoma City Thunder (have they really played 169 home games since 2008-2009? I don't think it includes Seattle) Cleveland Detroit New York Knicks Philadelphia Portland Houston Phoenix Atlanta Milwaukee Washington Wizards Sacramento Kings Los Angeles Clippers
More are not viewable for free.
So they are not a top 17 current NBA franchise home playoffs team.
Ok, I'm going to manually count the number of Clippers home playoffs games, and see if it matches 72.
I count 62 Braves/Clippers home playoffs games. So that StatMuse data is off.
I will now manually count Denver's home playoffs record, but use that Stat Muse data as an approximation as to where to place them.
I am counting the NBA only, not ABA.
Ok, Champs Or Chumps seems to be an easier to use site:
Ok, I manually counted 66 - 46. That is .589.
If the rest of that StatMuse data is approximately correct, it would put then between Milwaukee and Washington for the 15th best home playoffs record.

Make sure you read the part where I manually counted Denver's home playoffs record, because I did not trust StatMuse's numbers.
So I put some work into this. I'm glad I did, because the Clippers number of home playoffs games, according to Stat Muse, did not match what I manually counted, either. I trust my manual counting more.
Stat Muse is good sometimes, but I've noticed other errors in it before.

mistwell , thoughts on the Nuggets home playoffs record I calculated? Does not appear to be a top 14 home record all time in the playoffs. I manually calculated the Nuggets one, while using statmuse as an approximation for the rest of the standings, since I think the data is a little off. I'll manually calculate the Clippers now: 36 - 33, .5217. I did include the Braves. Statmuse had them had 37 - 35.

Not quoted, but I calculated Denver's home playoffs record all time. It's the 15th best.

See this from a few months ago:
Lakers vs Warriors tied at 47. Who do you want to lose more? I watched the Warriors-Kings game on Thursday in a friend's apt in SF. He's a big Warriors fan and it was his place and he has cancer so I didn't celebrate when the Kings came from behind in the 4th to take the win. But I was making out with a girl in the closet after the game and she was like "It's not like Steph to lose the ball at the end", and I'm like "no baby, I love that you know basketball, lets go to your place". A good game.
