We do need to need to play much better in game 2 to win. George and NoPo need to show up. Still feel good about Harden & Westbrook. Mavs have no answer for Zu but I could see them doing the Pick & Roll w him more so the switch would be Luka being guarded by Zu. I would like to see Tucker get some minutes.. Every game is going to be different. Dallas clearly wasn't ready for Game 1 and will be better next game. Too much time off for their stars, probably. George was fine in Game 1, not awesome but fine. Zu will get more defensive attention and he won't get position as much for easy scores next game. Harden is pretty unguardable if he is going to shoot like that, but that won't happen every game and others will have to shoot better just to maintain. So yeah that means PG and Norm will have to score more next time. We didn't even play Bones and Theis and they could help, too. Dallas will come back with better D and the Clips have to watch the turnovers.

We outscored them by 24 from the 3 point line on only 3 more attempts so if that swings the other way more then it'll def be a much more competitive game. Luka got his numbers, but that was a subpar game for him. He can def be much better. Harden probably won't be as good in game 2 either. One thing that was majorly in their favor was free throw attempts so we better hope it's not so lopsided next game. I saw Paul George now has 20 straight playoff games of 20+ points, so at least bubble George is long gone.

If we don't get Kawhi back soon and Harden continues playing this well, we're likely to beat the Mavs in the series. When James is playing well and handling out deep, it opens the floor much wider and Zub has more opportunities to be open because the D can't collapse on him. And Harden has more room to drive and dish to PG and the others. It all starts from him staying a serious threat from three. The thing is, nobody expects him to have four games like that in a series because that's not his history. Four games like that will probably be four wins to take the series. Three at the least if Luka goes off for 45 or something. So we need a couple of big games from PG and some relatively big games from Norm and Russ. And the thing we need more than anything is no games where PG and Harden each get 4 turnovers.

Luka ended up getting his numbers, but like Kyrie, they both got them when the score was more lopsided at that point. When the game was in doubt, those guys both were well below average. Luke was like 1-7 from 3 by the time the game was pretty blown open. I'm definitely expecting a big bounce back to start game 2.

Don't need rest when games are spread out in a series. Clippers rotation is the oldest in the league, every half hour counts. Speaking of age, just making this comment in general, not to you specifically.
Whenever I hear stats about average age, I never like them. Because they take the age of all players on the team, even those that barely play.
I think age of a team should be weighted by how many minutes they played / have played in the season. Thus the players that play the most, will be weighted the most.
I remember when calculations showed Portland as one of the youngest teams. But that was done using a 19 year old Ha Seung Jin in its calculations. He played 104 minutes all year that year.
I would also be ok if calculations were done using the top 8 players on a team. Maybe top 9 in some cases. Same thing, weight it by who plays the most minutes.
I heard a stat this weekend that Milwaukee is one of the oldest teams. Milwaukee and Clippers seem like good candidates for oldest, but if someone actually calculated it the way I wanted it, that would be more telling.
Similarly, Kyle Lowry should not be weighed equally for his teams of Miami and Philadelphia this year, because he was a limited minutes player.

Right. On the other hand, Kawhi will be back at some point, no? good point. Crosses fingers. I added a few fingers crossed emoticons to the editor, last week.
By request.

Also, this happens frequently. A team wins game 1 by 22 - 31 points, then loses game 2.
Clippers won game 1 against OKC in 2014 by 17 points, then lost games 2 and 3. And trailed game 4 for 44 minutes and 59 seconds, and only lead for 1 minute and 8 seconds.
Considering that both Dallas and Clippers are bad home playoffs teams, it's probably just a matter of "when" a road win will occur by one of these teams, and not "if".
Milwaukee and Indiana is now my pick for the series that could have zero road wins.
Clippers-Mavs and Cleveland-Orlando were my picks for series with lots of road wins.

Got home for the fourth quarter. And just heard the dumbest comment ever at the end: "The team that loses has the advantage." (I don't know where to begin with that.) I was dumbfounded by that as well. I'll provide one possible explanation.
The team that wins might have players that relax, or think it will be easy the next time. When reviewing film in the film session after the game, the coach may have a harder time getting their attention.
Meanwhile, the team that loses will be more focused on their mistakes, and trying to correct them.
It's basically Rocky Balboa vs. Clubber Lang, heading into that fight. One team maybe posing for the camera and not working as hard.
The other will be more determined to do whatever it takes to be ready next time.
Now, that doesn't apply to everyone. Some people keep their focus and drive after winning, because they want more, and want to set records.
And also, it doesn't mean that just because the losing team may be "hungrier", that they'll be able to execute better next time. Maybe they're not good enough.
So I would not call it an "advantage" to lose, because I don't think it applies the majority of the time.
Unless that broadcaster had done a historical study of every 4 vs. 5 matchup, and found out that a 1-1 series is the most common result after two games, rather than one team going 2-0.
Basically something like this, but for the NBA, and that takes round and seeds into account.
I found something like it last year, but it looked like the image was cut off as the odds expanded to the 5th game.
