www.rotoworld.com/teams/clubhouse/nba/sa/san-antonio-spursFinally we hit the big time and get a big national TV game. Clippers are -5.5 favorites. Spurs missing Gasol with a foot problem, Gay missed the game yesterday for rest and a bad heel that has been giving him problems. Bradley probably skips this game even though he practiced with the team yesterday. Mbah a Moute probably will not play either. Spurs very listless in their loss at Phoenix yesterday. Very unusual for a Popovich team to play that poorly. Usually when they have injuries they have guys coming off the bench who can plug the holes and they continue to play at a very high level no matter who is on the court for them. I guess no Parker, no Ginobilli, and no Murray is finally catching up with them. Depth is a problem. And DeRozan and Aldridge being their two big guns and both guys being mid-range shooters and inefficient scorers may be a problem. Aldridge shooting 42% from the floor and has not hit a three all year. Belinelli only shooting 32% from the three. Bertans, Forbes, and Mills are the three guys we need to shut down. Those are the guys on the Spurs hitting all the threes at a high enough percentage to be concerned about them. I know who Mills is but the other two guys not so much. Well we should win this game. Maybe a blow out. But I don't trust Pop. He will motivate the Spurs to bounce back from last night. Or are the Spurs just a shot team that will finish 10th like many people have predicted. I guess we will find out.

He didn't step out. His wife died by a meth driver on Feb. 10, 2016. He was the Thunder assistant coach at the time. In June 2016, he resigned. In September 2016, he was the vice president of basketball operations for the Spurs. In June of 2018, he joined Philly as an assistant coach. So he may have stopped being an assistant coach, but he was still around the game as a vice president of basketball operations, with the Spurs.

I guess we will find out. Aldridge will be fine this season. He's a career 48% shooter. A few games ago, he was having a 50+% season. He had 2 bad games in a row where he went a combined 13-36. He had 37 points on 13-22 2 games ago. DeRozan is great too. He's shooting 49% from the field, and 90% from the foul line at 6.4 attempts her game. On the Raptors, he'd average 7 or 8 FTAs per game. If he's getting to the foul line and shooting 90% from the foul line, that's automatic too.

I finally get to catch a full game tonight. Those pests(Spurs) won't go away. I have confidence in the Clippers to win against any opponent on any given night. Let's go Boban.

Hope Robinson gets a run. Thornwell put up a bunch of empty minutes last game.

I really want to watch this game but I'm going to a whiskey pairing dinner at 6:30 and then after-dinner activities so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to watch :-(
Go Clippers! Dont let off the gas!

Kind of a back and forth game.
But now the Clippers just had a 7-0 run, early in the 3rd.

Seems like a game where one team makes a mistake one play, then a good play the next.

Great game. Clippers still need a better game plan in the 4th quarter other than give the ball to Lou.

Great game. Clippers still need a better game plan in the 4th quarter other than give the ball to Lou. Agree. I think it is our lack of 3 point shooting that causes this. I've noticed teams just pack the middle against us, which closes off drives and disrupts passing lanes. [edit] we are 27th in 3 point attempts with 25.1/game, but we are 3rd in accuracy at 38.5%.

I thought Thornwell and Wallace did a great job this game giving us energy off of the bench and putting defensive pressure on the Spurs guards. Especially Wallace. Happy with the way he closed on Forbes and would not give him those open three pointers. Harris really did not do anything the second half and played a lot of minutes. And they shut down Harrell too in the fourth quarter. Williams, Shai, and Gallo were the main guys scoring in the fourth quarter. Beverley missed a lot of open threes in crunch time and the Spurs were giving him that shot. And nobody could keep DeRozan away from the basket. Spurs deserved to win this game with their defense and low turnover rate. But they did not because Aldridge had such a poor night (3 for 15) shooting from the field. We played pretty damn good and with a lot of energy but like prior posters have noted do not have a good enough offensive game to attack a good defense in crunch time. And we are not that good at defense when we put our offensive players (like Lou and Gallo) into the game.
The good news is we will get better. And we will start playing worse teams which should give us a much bigger margin of error. Nets tomorrow afternoon on a back-to-back for them.
