The schedule starts to get really rough soon and that could decide how the season will go.

I don't think anyone could have predicted we would be the number 1 seed in the Western Conference after the quarter pole of the season. This is amazing. Again, I would just be happy if we end up making the playoffs (even though Barkley says he doesn't think we will make it). This team is really fun to watch and very easy to root for. I am really enjoying the season so far.

Jazz, Rockets, Spurs, TWolves, and Pelicans all out of the playoffs at this point. Yes, nobody could have predicted it.
Glad to have Gortat back for this game. He is playing much better than he did the first 10 games of the season. Benching Boban against the young and athletic Kings was a good idea. It looked like Harrell took over in the late third quarter minutes with all those and ones. This guy is a stud. Then Gallo and Harris came alive the last five minutes of the game to finish them off. Once again we did not need Lou to close the game. Great sign here that other guys are stepping up in the fourth quarter when Lou isn't shooting well. It is what is saving us right now. And how about Shai. The guy plays like a 10 year veteran. Not like a rookie. He sees the floor really well and usually makes the right play by taking what is there and not trying to force things. Very impressed with his shot selection too. And he can hit the three pointers. And when Bradley and Beverley are scoring too we are a very good team.
One problem though is the defense in the paint. Teams get way too much penetration and easy baskets in the paint. When Harrell goes to guard somebody who breaks through the defense another guy cuts in behind him and usually gets a dunk. No weakside help. Harris and Gallo are both pretty weak defenders when it comes to stopping penetration. I guess the new rules say you can't grab and hold guys on defense and this may be the result of those rule changes. We just can't keep the bigs on other teams from cutting down the lane and getting dunks.

great thing about this Clipper team is they have enough veteran leadership not to get rattled down the stretch in tight games and situations. In the past DJ didn't want the ball, Blake questionably wanted it, and it was all on CP to raise his lil body up and hit shots. Now it's all these icewater veins shotmakers like Lou, Gallo, T-Har, and could even see Livingston Jr/Cassell clone SAG hitting big shots. Don't know where Dianilo gets it from as it looks almost like he's disinterested staring off into space thinkin about Peronis and olive oil skinned, big breasted italian women...but whatever, it works for him.
Doc is coaching well too. Sticking with SAG to build confidence at the expense of the under-performing P-Bev is invaluable this early in the season. The team is a real team, a united group although they keep their passion in check it seems...I was jumping off my couch yelling at the tv after some Trez and other fireworks last night and bench was practically yawning.

I agree and I've been saying all season that our back court defense has been good but it's our front court defense that has been absolutely atrocious. They team needs to get better at the rotational help on the interior defense. I believe that you identified the issue very well.

Why was the bench yawning? no idea. Maybe winning bball is old hand now?
T-Har had the camera on him doing the roaring lion and then the camera quickly went away as entertainment isn't supposed to be sleep inducing.
