Hurt again. 4 year max contract for a 33 year old was the nail in the coffin for HOU's championship hopes. Maybe they can sign Austin as a replacement.

Out indefinitely.

That was a GALACTICALLY stupid contract to give Chris at this stage of his career and his long list of missed games. Thankfully he's no longer our concern.

All the advocates for signing Paul to a max extension for five years in 2017 were wrong. I knew his health did not support that kind of investment. Especially since he did not deliver a championship to us. And last season his injury in game five of the playoffs that the Rockets were winning cost that team a championship. I know they signed him to keep Harden happy. But they should have signed him for a lot less money. Like half as much to be realistic about his value going forward.

Comments from the Rockets message board: Texanstradamus: Worst contract in the nba and it ain’t even January juanm34: Our new Yao Ming... Sadat X: Chris Pull Verbal Christ: Imagine those Hammys in year 3 . **** might be fatal. Houstunna: Paul is injured. Water is wet. Three more years of this sh1t. J Sizzle: Rest him a month minimum and sign Austin Rivers. (three other users then also bring up wanting Austin) BeardSanity: CP is out of shape, looks just like Raymon Felton. Hope we kept a receipt for that **** contract, about to make Ryno contract look good. RocketsFido: This CP3 contract is going to go down as one of the biggest mistakes of this franchise. Houstunna: Steve Ballmer breathes easy. BigShasta: Most expensive hamstrings in the world. threepointshot3: CP0 indeed

Question: How would people here feel about us trading Beverley for Nene?

I think Nene is pretty much washed up and a waste of a roster spot. Motley coming up from G-league would be a lot better. I like Beverley. Why give him away to help the Rockets?

Mistwell: this is what I was talking about and why we should shake things up a bit.

Well know Austin has signed with Houston. That's gonna be an ugly locker room

LMAO. One reason Chris Paul cited for leaving the Clippers was Austin Rivers...and now he has Austin all to himself! Holy shit you cannot make this up. If I had written a fiction story last year about that happening nobody would have believed it. Well, aside from the fact nobody would read a fiction story I wrote about basketball.

There will not be any nepotism or gifted minutes for Austin in Houston like there was here. And CP3 isn't going to be able to say crap after he cost the Rockets their championship last year after getting injured. Good to see Austin go to a team that is a contender that likes players to shoot the three. Just the situation I thought he should be in. Of course that blows any chance of him ever getting signed to a big contract again. He may very well be a vet minimum player next year.

Rivers being teamed up with CP again is absolutely hilarious.

I feel bad for Mike D'Antoni. He finally had a good thing going for the first time since the Suns before CP arrived. Then he had to bring in Carmelo, probably because CP insisted. Now he has to manage CP and Austin getting along. I hope CP doesn't try to VDN him.
And why do people keep saying Daryl Morey is a genius? He is the idiot who signed a 33 year old CP to a max contract, lost the flexibility to resign his core players, brought in a washed up Carmelo and now signs a marginal talent Austin.
