...they traded away. D'Angelo is balling. I don't know. They got Kuzma and cap relief so it wasn't a bad trade for them.

dyce , weren't you not that high on Russell a few years ago? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else you didn't like as much. His shooting percentages are not that great, and he gets to the foul line less than 2 times a game. He gets 1.1 steals a game. Plus, I don't trust Brooklyn stats. For the past 5 years, they always have some player with gaudy point totals and below average percentages. Devin Harris had similar point totals and shooting percentages, but had 1.7 steals, 6.9 assists, got to the foul line 8.8 times a game, and even he was just ok. He was an All-Star, but overall, he was still just ok. Russell isn't even as good as what Harris did.

He's really stepped up his game this month. 24.1 PPG, 4.0 REB, 7.7 AST, 49.3 FG%, 44.2 3P% in 11 games. Just feels like he has figured things out and is still only 22 years old.
Randle is another guy the Lakers let go for nothing.

The assists, a part of me gives him a nod.
Another part sees some Brooklyn guard every year with 6 - 7 assists, which means what he's doing is not as special.
Great FG%.
Still think he needs to get to the foul line more. I thought he was a slasher a few years ago.

The Lakers had to let him go--not necessarily to make room for Lonzo, but because his snitching on Nick Young broke the trust in the locker room and he would never be seen as a leader.
I am amazed at how the Lakers got so little from 4 lottery picks in 4 years. Their "process" should have netted them at least 1 all-star. This is almost as bad as Cleveland with 3 #1 picks in 4 years and none of them are still with the team. In fact, none of the players they got in return are still with the team.

...they traded away. D'Angelo is balling. Deangelo sucked with the Lakers. They got rid of much better players in Nance and Randle. Deangelo has gotten a lot better, putting up big points and and passing a lot, but all this offensive stat volume comes at below-average efficiency and high turnovers, so it doesn't really do much to generate wins. But they have nice bigs and efficient wings doing that job and an overall very efficient offense. Joe Harris is killing it. He and Dinwiddie and Allen have all had big gains in their careers recently. That's gotta be great for long-suffering Brooklyn fans. Deangelo's going to be selling a lot of sneakers putting up points like that.

Brookyln in 27-23 on the season, and on a 19-5 stretch right. So it's not just a guy putting up big points on a bad team.

I would have gone with Caris LeVert. Congrats to Russell.

(I quoted my post, because it was pertaining to thoughts about Russell.)
I'm watching the Brooklyn - Portland game.
Russell is ok. He's growing on me. He's not a chucker, at least in this game.
As for the game:
Seth Curry with the game saving steal, down by 1.
He gets fouled.
An 86% foul shooter goes 1/2 from the foul line.
Tie game 120, headed to OT.

Dlo is balling. I was never a fan of him but he’s definitely growing up before our eyes.

I said it at the time and I'll say it again now, trading Russell was a BAD move for the Lakers, I knew they would regret it. Dumb.
