Though neither of these two want to do it, the right basketball decision should be Harden coming off the bench and PG playing the 4 when needed… That is if they are telling the truth when they say they are ready to do what is necessary to win a title.
As far as I’m concerned, the starters should be
— Westbrook, PG, Kawhi, {a legit PF}, ZU. (Harden off the bench)
Until we get a legit PF, it should be
— Westbrook, {Mann}, Kawhi, PG, ZU. (Harden off the bench and PG plays the 4)
Until Mann’s injury heals, it should be
— Westbrook, Bones, Kawhi, PG, ZU. (Harden off the bench and PG plays the 4)
But of course, load management this year will gave way to ego management and none of my above scenarios will see the light of day.
The reason that makes the most sense to me is that we’ve seen Lue stagger 213 so that at least one of them is always on the court while the other is resting. So if you have a bench core of one of 213 + Harden. then you add to that a staggering of Mann, Bones, Powell and Plumlee, Coffey, Brown, Boston interchanged as needed, that is a killer bench. probably the best in the league.

I agree I just cannot imagine Harden off the bench. Ultimately it's why the Thunder team broke up.

Pros and cons to whichever one ends up being the point guard. Russ isn't great off the ball, but Harden is the better creator.

I agree I just cannot imagine Harden off the bench. Ultimately it's why the Thunder team broke up. It also broke up because they had an up and coming Ibaka to pay too. The Harden money went to Ibaka.
Ultimately, they would draft Steven Adams in 2013, and he was even better.
If they could only pay three guys, I think the balance of Ibaka in the short term, with Steven Adams farther out, once he completed his rookie deal, was the right move.
It's hard to win without a frontcourt. They actually had one in in 2012 with Ibaka, and still got outplayed by Bosh.

But I feel much better about the whole thing: nothing to do with Fatso, but rather that I just read SC finally fired Alex Grinch.

I don't recall any or many USC posts by you.
From what I recall, mistwell , the departed @rhy1244, and tullabye are UCLA fans.
@clipitgood from the old ClipperTalk was the only USC fan I could recall. He complained that Matt Barkley kept trying to serenade his daughter. I think that was him.
Wait, I think it was actually tullabye that said that, which would give tullabye an even greater reason to hate on USC.
Were you on the ESPN boards too, or did you join the old ClipperTalk? If it was only the old ClipperTalk, what year did you join?
Also, what Clipper player was wearing that # 11 in your previous picture? Seems like # 11 has mostly been worn by guards:
Bob McAdoo 1973-1977 Chuck Williams 1977-1978 Connie Norman 1979 Phil Smith 1981-1982 Winston Garland 1990-1991 Stojko Vranković 1998-1999 Earl Boykins 2001-2002 Željko Rebrača 2005-2006 Nick Young 2012 Jamal Crawford 2013-2017 Avery Bradley 2018-2019 Brice Johnson 2018 Maurice Harkless 2020 Yogi Ferrell 2021 Moses Wright 2022 John Wall 2023 Jordan Miller 2024
Now Fatso's body on Earl Boykins would be interesting.

clipsentuboca does not want to pay a subscription to Crappervision to watch Larden. dunno, clipsentuboca is talking himself into buying the $125 season subscription. clipsentuboca doesn't attend many live games anymore thus is contemplating the financial justification in this purchase. clipsentuboca has been excited by the team's play and opportunity even with Jimmy Hardon coming.
Would you rather have a James HardOn, or a Matt Bonner?
Matt Bonner lead the league in 3-point % in 2010-2011, and won the 3-point shootout in 2013.
James HardOn finish last in the 3-point shootout in 2015, scoring 15 points. Redick was next with 17 points.
In 2016, James HardOn was in a three-way tie for 3rd, to advance to the finals, with Redick and Booker. They played a tiebreaker round, and Booker had 12, Redick 9, and James HardOn 8 in the 30 second tiebreak round.

I would not say I am a UCLA fan. I would say between them and USC I prefer UCLA and spent time there. But I don't know enough about college sports to call myself a fan of anyone.
