This is just one section. It's going to have the feel of a student section. This Intuit Dome is going to draw big attention for the Clippers next year, sounds like something completely new.

They won't be able to enforce this. Season ticket holders will always sell their tickets to the highest bidder.

That "one section" holds 4500 fans, including 300 standing room. A little more than double what LAC used to draw in the Sports Arena days. Of course they can't enforce it, but they will give license to drunken dead-beat fans who believe that they can.

They won't be able to enforce this. Season ticket holders will always sell their tickets to the highest bidder. And how would they do that, given the stated restrictions on transfers for those tickets? Only certified Clippers fans can purchase those tickets, and tickets in that section can only transferred to fellow certified Clippers fans through the team's Ticketmaster marketplace, and if you're caught in violation of the rules by one of the many "Chuckmark" enforcement people you're out of the section meaning the season ticket holder risks their tickets if they sell to a non-fan in some manner.

Why do you think they can't enforce it given all the restrictions? Soccer teams use this (that's where the concept comes from) and it's enforced successfully.

Ballmer is putting a lot of resources into this with the most exuberant fans getting discounts. He can afford to hire extra ppl to watch the section. And if you're a fan of another team, not sure why you'd even want to be there. It would be pretty unbearable. Great idea, our games will feel electric on the broadcasts. I'd bet other teams follow suit.

Well I suppose it would be possible in the scenario you describe. It would devalue the season tickets though because of the reduced marketplace for resale.

Anything that gives any fans license to act like a-holes (e.g., abusing fans from other teams) is to me a bad idea. But maybe a profitable one.

I believe that is built in to the cost as I think those tickets are expressly cheaper than regular season tickets.

========= Inside Steve Ballmer’s $2 billion playground for LA Clippers fans
Featuring courtside suites, chargers in every seat, auto-pay concessions, and lots and lots of toilets, the Intuit Dome aims to be the ultimate arena—and a gift to the Inglewood community.
... In 2020, Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard had his jersey retired at his alma mater, San Diego State University. Ballmer attended the ceremony. Impressed by the construction and cascading stands of Viejas Arena, home to San Diego State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, Ballmer wanted to bring that design and college atmosphere to the Intuit Dome. The result is the Wall, a continuous grandstand of 51 uninterrupted rows, seating 4,500 fans, conveniently adjacent to the opposing bench.
Nearly 6,000 miles away in Dortmund, Germany, the stadium for the Borussia Dortmund football club, one of the winningest in the country’s history, features what’s called the “Yellow Wall.” At more than 300 feet wide and 131 feet high, it’s the largest terrace of any European stadium, holding nearly 25,000 fans (the stadium holds more than 81,000). That’s considerably more than Intuit’s 18,000 capacity. When designing their own wall, Zucker and her team talked to the Dortmund brass.
The Yellow Wall isn’t just a regular ticket. It requires membership to one of Borussia Dortmund’s official fan clubs, and in most cases, season tickets, which are notoriously difficult to come by. A select number of individual game tickets are available for “wall seating,” but available game tickets are a rarity—Yellow Wall seats, unicorns.
The rules for the Clippers Wall are similar and simple: Only fans who have earned Chuckmarks (named after the team’s mascot, Chuck the Condor) can purchase tickets to sit in this section, and Chuckmarks are available only through a specially designed loyalty program. Their Wall will not only give the Clippers what Ballmer hopes is the greatest home-court advantage on the planet, but the grandstand is also designed to be retractable, streamlining the process of transitioning the arena from basketball- to concert-ready...

College atmosphere? I actually hate that. The only 'home-court advantage' I like is when our players are better than their players.

I like the idea of the wall, especially being fans only. Unfortunately they will probably put clipper Daryl in there and it will ruin the whole thing.
