corkscrew , I gave you my list. What do you think about any of them? I think they could help. I don't care for Beef Stew and we have nothing to offer the Jazz nor the Hornets. Also, I don't think we need size for the sake of size only, we have Theis for that and we can play him at PF, but it wouldn't necessarily be good. We need size that brings much more to the table. Anyway, none of this is going to happen, so why waste any time dwelling on it?

I thought those options, to me, brought what I had desired to the table, which was strong rebounding. I thought these were decent possibilities. I am not sure what the Hornets want. I don't think they can keep going younger (if younger means worse record, which it might not). I think the Hornets have to find a way to make frequent playoffs appearances, but I don't know how right now. The Jazz could still want younger players, the same way they had gotten Sexton and Horton-Tucker in recent years. So the Clippers might be a good trading partner for them. I think Beef Strew is much better than Theis, but that's ok if you don't. I think he's a better fit at going against bigs. I'd rather have him on the Clippers than Bogdanovic, and I think Bogdanovic would be happier with his role in Detroit. Olynyk is someone I've never understood why he changes teams so much. He's always been good, to me.

You asked me to come up with a trade idea list that would be better than keeping Mann. Or trading for Bogdanovic. I did. Then you said it was a waste of time coming up with the list. I made the list because I thought they were decent trade possibilities, based on who might be traded. And the Clippers might be decent partners with some of them.

He checks none of the boxes we need. He's not a physical defender and averages 3.5 rebounds per game. His scoring is good, but we don't need that. He rebounds the same as T. Mann, whom he would be replacing as a starter, but he is bigger, stronger and scores better. Who would you rather have go up against Gobert and KAT? Or Jokic and A. Gordon? Sure he's not an ideal PF but we need size and every little bit helps. He might be bigger and stronger than T-Mann, but he doesn't play that way. He doesn't solve any of the issues of going up against Gobert, KAT, Zion or Jokic, in fact, he may be worse. You would be trading defense for offense. Scoring isn't our teams issue, defending the big teams is, and he doesn't address that.

He's always been good, to me. I like those options. To me the biggest need, if anything, is the small ball C/PF. Stewart and Olynyk are mobile 5's and are real shooters. Like guys you truly can not leave and have quick releases. I like Theis, but he's a Center. He can't play PF imo, he would get exposed for being too slow and lumbering. His volume from 3 is low too so even though he's shooting a good %, it's because he can really only make them when they're wide open so he can't shoot it at a high volume and keep his % good. Olynyk's volume is down a bit this year for whatever reason, but still about double that of Theis. He can also guard 4s and 5s. Another guy who seems to be available, but is more of the 3/4 player type is Miles Bridges. Obv a very talented player, but very controversial. You're also going to be on the hook for paying him a big contract and all that goes along w that. If it wasn't for his off the court issues he'd probably cost way more than he will. I haven't heard us connected to him, but it sounds like the Suns are willing to sell their souls for gathering as much talent as possible. I only bring him up because they are as tapped out on assets as we are so I'd imagine if they could swing it, we'd be able to as well if we wanted.

Yeah, I also mentioned Miles Bridges here:
The biggest on-court concern is that I think he would really want to explore all of his options, this offseason. So even if the Clippers make him a good offer, he's going to consider a lot of options. Does he want the biggest role? Does he want a long term contract? Does he want to try and make an All-Star team?
Whereas Olynyk or Stewart, they know their role. It won't change too much from team to team. So if they like their teammates on the Clippers, they will stay.
(Well Stewart is under contract for a while, but you know what I mean.)
With Bridges, he may still feel he has some career goals in mind.
It's also not too far fetched that Bridges can put up almost All-Star numbers on the Clippers, which would probably keep him happier.
As for his personal issues, I hope he's learned to either get himself out of negative situations, or not create those situations. He's a repeat offender too.

Yeah Bridges wouldn't have too big of a role here and he's in the part of his career where he's going to try to establish himself. I don't know if he would get voted onto all star/all nba teams, but he could command a max or near max deal. I don't think the Suns can even realistically keep him long term if they traded for him.

I didn't realize until the past few days that Bridges has violated his parole.
Actually done it twice.
Well allegedly done it.
If the parole accusations are true, he's never going to learn. He's used up too many chances.
He would do something to make himself unavailable, soon enough.
