If we were to miss the playoffs, NBADraft.net has Sekou Doumbaya as the last lottery pick: www.nbadraft.net/2019mock_draftOf course, we would have a 0.5% chance at landing the #1 pick and, presumably, Zion Williamson. Would you rather have that or a first round loss in the playoffs?

If we could buy the last lottery pick with 4 future seconds, would you?
Also yes I like Sekou as a project at that pick.

Second would be the Warriors, but I accept we have no chance against them. Third would be OKC because I think Westbrook is a douche. I wouldn't have a problem losing to any of the other teams. How does this answer your question? As we saw with the Lob City era, there is no glory from a second round loss. What matters is how you lose and to whom you lose.

Showing that we are a decent team, watching the team in the playoffs, getting playoff experience for the young players, making the playoffs over the Lakers - these are all far superior to a #15 pick.

Playoffs. Fuck the shitty draft pick. Celtics can have it.

Definitely playoffs. We could give the Warriors a battle. Not in terms of winning but we could beat their players up some. Maybe even take a game at Staples.

I would rather have the draft pick but I would be happy with playoffs too, good to get playoff experience for our young guys. Also the Lakers missing would be HILARIOUS.

Losing the draft pick saves us about 3 million in cap space. So there is that.

Getting into the playoffs makes this team more attractive to max players. Even more attractive if it's the 7th or 6th seed. Even more attractive if this very young team does well in the playoffs and gives one of the top teams a scare in the first round.

Playoffs. Fuck the shitty draft pick. Celtics can have it. Landry Shamet already has more minutes than Rome Coldbucks. Both rookies, same age. I think it is time to change your avatar.

Difference is that Lob City was a team full of unlikeable whiners with Championship aspirations that would underachieve every year in the playoffs. This team is full of young, fun, scrappy, likeable ‘no names’ that were expected to be at the bottom of the league. I would be ecstaticed if these guys push the Warriors or Nuggets to 6 or 7 games. This current Clippers team would be the type of team that would pull a 1st round upset against the Lob City Clippers.

This isn't quite a JOKE OF THE WEEK, but maybe it's a Good Observation of the Week?
