Lakers Schadenfreude anyone? We all but lock up a playoff spot with a win, but better than that, if we beat them we pretty much eliminate them.

Anyone still think we are battling the Lakers for the playoffs? Trapp? Clipps? Anyone? Maybe it's time to stop talking about them?

Anyone still think we are battling the Lakers for the playoffs? Trapp? Clipps? Anyone? Maybe it's time to stop talking about them? It’s about time we start talking about the Jazz, Rockets Blazers and Thunder. I think we can catch them. Lakers are done. Kings are having a good season but they don’t have it in them. I hope the LeBron vs MJ debate finally dies. The future is blindingly bright for the Clippers.

This game was like watching a team with 10 good players just grind down a team with two or three good players for 48 minutes until the inevitable happened. Which is the undermanned team lost. Ingram and Ball being out really hurt the Lakers. Muscala, Bullock, and even McGee are all pretty crappy players who can't be counted on to do much of anything. Lakers made one stupid freaking mistake in trading Zubac for Muscala. That guy should not even be in the league. Doesn't shoot that well and isn't a good defensive player either. Glad we never took him on our roster. And Zubac may be a productive and cheap player for years for us. Dumb, dumb, dumb of the Lakers.
I like Gallo. Don McLean raves about him on the broadcasts. Like saying if Gallo is healthy for 65 games then we will make the playoffs. "He is that good" - McLean. And yeah I agree. Gallo is a damn good player when he is healthy. Perfect for the way the game is played today. Shoots threes at a high percentage, rebounds, and hits his free throws. And can play enough defense to shut down guys he is guarding. At least if they are not quick.
And what can you say about Beverley. Heart and soul of the team as the Time's pointed out this morning. Thing I love about him is that he ignores Doc's coaching and goes and gets offensive rebounds. He lets Shai go back on defense and it seems to be working out OK. And he also gets defensive rebounds too which helps since we are not a good team at rebounding without him helping out. He took the challenge of guarding Lebron last night and really took it to him with some physical defense. That is where I felt we had this game. When Beverley physically challenged Lebron to try and go through him to get to the basket.
All in all a satisfying win that means we need to take the next three days to practice and try and get better. Now the new goal is to win in the playoffs and not just get there. And try to win 50 games.

Anyone see Kuzma pushing LeBron to play defense? Absolutely hilarious.

I said earlier in the year too that I liked watching Gallinari play, and hoped he wasn't traded.

All you naive folks who thought Luke Walton was a better coach that Doc Rivers should be eating crow today. You won't, but you should be. Almost every single Lakers fan would make that trade this second without a second thought. I doubt Luke Walton ever gets a head coaching job again in his life.

Doc is a top five coach. Luke is a bottom five. I like Igor Kokoskov of the Phoenix Suns better than I like Walton. I hope the Suns don't fire Igor and hire Walton after the Lakers fire him. Not sure that Walton can survive with Lebron there. Lebron does not like him. I don't either. Well Luke had to win this season. Only way he survives is if Lakers pull a miracle and make the playoffs.

I put more emphasis on the front office. It's more about Frank putting together a better roster than Earvin Johnson. Clippers have more talent. The front office, to me, usually has a bigger impact than the coach. Rivers is not in my top 11 for sure. When I do evaluate coaching, I don't go by wins.

Luke joined probably the biggest dumpster fire in sports. He needs a young team with a direction.
