Defense of the starters looking good. Getting all the loose balls.
Harden with 7 asts in the first quarter.
28-21 Clippers so far.
Clippers bench looking like G-League in the 2nd quarter. They can't score, can't defend, can't move the ball. It's a foul fest.
Batum is a rock. He settles down the 2nd unit, Zubac comes in and gets passes from Batum, Clips go on a run and now 37-24

Jokic leads Denver back into the game and now leads all scorers with 16.
Zub with 15/8.
Harden with an 11/6/9 first half.
48-42 Clippers at the half.
Gotta maintain that defense in the 2nd half. I'm guessing DEN will put some handcuffs on Zub, and we'll need some shotmaking from Mann and Jones to help. And somebody from the bench has to make a jumpshot, I don't think that made any in the first half.

Clips played tough in the 4th and Norm was a scoring dream. Great road win in Denver.

I'm sure the nuggets fans are grumbling about Westbrook today. Their bench was pretty bad and he didn't help. Lack of depth ruined Jokic's superstar performance.

It was pretty even between Westbrook and KPJ, both guys playing for the other team. Harden being able to draw that foul was huge, thought they were going to overturn it. They need to continue using Zubac like this, his scoring has been very needed.

It was funny during the game the feed switched on Clipper Vision to the Denver feed for a short bit during the 4th quarter. Their announcers said KPJ gets a rash every time he passes the ball.

Mann and Coffey combining for 0 points in 45 minutes leaves a lot of room for improvement.
DEN having a stealfest with our ballhandlers leaves a lot of room for improvement. 13 steals!
Loved Zubac's and Harden's big double-doubles: 24/15/4 and 23/6/16.
We are not a big team but we are hustling for boards and outrebounded DEN in DEN. Nice.

Kai Jones playing less than 4 minutes minutes seems like a waste of the one of the 50 games he can play under the 2-way deal.

Norm isn't going to score 37 every night so we absolutely have to get some production from the wing. Mann doesn't shoot if he misses his first shots, so his first shots should run as cuts to the basket. He doesn't have to be just a three and D guy, which is more or less how he's being used.
I think we'll get more offense from Jones on some nights. And hopefully Porter will find his shot. We'll need that tonight on the back to back game. Sure glad we won the first.

He was your avater for about 20 years. He was. He had a great playoff game once. But he isn't getting better. He's basically the same player today as he was three years ago. But he has this reputation for being a great plug and play role player. Great, use him as a trade chip to get someone who can do something excellent on a more consistent basis. |
