It's actually really sad that Mike Smith hasn't been invited all season for a single game. He was such a staple with Ralph for so many years. It's really a bad look for Ralph.

I don't think it looks bad for Ralph. I don't think it's his choice. Of course there's no way to know, but I think he has enough clout to request Mike Smith for a game or two. He certainly could at least mention him, which he never does. Mike Smith spent something like 19 years with the team, half of Ralph's career.

I don't think it looks bad for Ralph. I don't think it's his choice. Of course there's no way to know, but I think he has enough clout to request Mike Smith for a game or two. He certainly could at least mention him, which he never does. Mike Smith spent something like 19 years with the team, half of Ralph's career. It's standard operating procedure, that whenever a broadcaster or host leaves a TV or radio station, their replacement never mentions about the hold broadcaster / host.
But I agree with you that Ralph could have requested Mike Smith to be a partner for 1 game, or have him attend in person the final regular season game. Maybe it will be the final playoffs game (or winner-take-all game).
