Clippers are going to the playoffs and won't have a first round pick this year, but it is tradition for Clippers fans to talk about the draft while the season is still going on. Teams that know they won't make the playoffs are shutting it down. Zion is the obvious marketing choice for #1 pick. I'm not convinced he will be more than Larry Johnson best case or Anthony Bennett worst case. Who else will stand out? The NCAA Tournament will showcase a lot of guys. Here is a mock draft: www.nbadraft.net/2019mock_draftThis year's rookies probably have at least 5 future all-stars (Luka, Trae, Ayton, SGA, ShamWow).

I'd say that Mitchell Robinson and Marvin Bagley have a significantly higher chance of being future all-stars than Shai or Shamet.

Zion is a special athlete. I've never seen anything like him and he's a lot more gifted than Larry Johnson. The comparison to Barkley is about as close as you can get, except Zion is more athletic. Barkley is in the top 3 of most productive NBA PFs ever.

Ayton is not a future All-Star to me.
I think Wendell Carter Jr., if he can regain his pre-injury form, has a chance.

Kyle Korver made one All-Star team when the Hawks won 60 games.
Rip Hamilton made a few All-Star teams.
If Shamrock is in this spectrum, then he has a chance if the Clippers have a good record and are given multiple All-Stars.

Coincidence. I was thinking of previous #1s with a similar body type.

This draft has a very good top 3, but gets pretty weak after that. It's actually a good year to give up our pick. Being in the lottery, a lot of those picks look no better than role players. Hachimura, Hunter etc those guys are not stars. I can't decide if Zion is Barkley, Blake, Kemp or Dominique but that's the class of player he should be.

He didn't make it to the finals, even with the second pick and probably 4th pick playing with him.
I continue to have my doubts about Zion.

He didn't make it to the finals, even with the second pick and probably 4th pick playing with him. I continue to have my doubts about Zion. What do you think he'll struggle with, more than expected? I think he lacks some fundamental skills, and hasn't shown he's developing them much. He's powerful, and plays with a lot of passion. He doesn't know how to run an offense, or screens, or handle the ball, or how to come out of a pin-down, for example. He also lacks mid and long range shooting skills, which unfortunately have become must-haves in todays NBA. And his defense is a bit iffy for NBA level defense, though that can be learned. He also is small for a his preferred position, and weighs too much, which is putting more stress on his body. It also will cause endurance issues, at least in his first season. I think he's very similar to Blake Griffin - which will make him a very good player, but not what he's being described as right now (which is "transcendent" and "generational" player) and which also puts him at injury risk.
