If I were Jeannie, I would give Masai Ujiri a godfather offer then trade LeBron for a package of young players then trade for AD then sign a marquee free agent.

Magic sucks as a front office guy, this is a win for the Lakers, but Jeanie isnt a good owner either, they are a fucking mess right now, I love it.

It's amazing, Shaq said Jeannie should get Jerry West in a tone of voice that didn't even indicated a possibility that West wouldn't go. It's like the Lakers can just get anyone they want for the asking, and the only reason Jerry is not with the Lakers is because he wasn't asked. Good God, the arrogance! West will be 81 next month, his stint with the Clippers is probably his last and he surely wants to see the rebuilding of the team into a contender before he leaves.

Why would the Lakers pay Jerry West five million a year. That is Ballmer type money not Buss type money. And why would Jerry go back to that mess when he loves working with Ballmer, Frank, and Doc. Not even remotely worried about Shaq's arrogance translating to any real action. I think Magic quitting may save Luke's job. Magic had to fire him today and now that isn't happening. And I don't know if Pelinka is going to step up and fire him or if he has the power to do that. Or if Pelinka gets fired today. Jeannie isn't a good owner and has some tough decisions to make. I would keep Luke since he is under contract and fire Pelinka and hire a new GM. Lakers roster construction was terrible this year and once they get the personnel right Luke could probably do a better job as coach.

Fuck Laker dudes thinking they can poach our guys. Magic sure did rage quit 2K style. I really don’t blame him. That organization must be worse than we thought. “Back stabbing” sure is a strong phrase for a franchise Magic helped build. Laker fans are in absolute denial to the fact that the glory days are over and won’t come back for a long time if not ever. “Hurr Durr 16 rings.”

Everyone seems to despise Pelinka, from the other GM's to a lot of sources within their organization. The only guy who likes him is Kobe so I can see him coming on board. I'd expect him to still fire Luke.

Pelinka reminds me of that restaurant manager that thinks he’s helping, but really is fucking everything up and pissing off all the guests.

Count me in. I absolutely despise Pelinka too. He was representing Carlos Boozer who the Cavs had a low cost option for a year on him playing which they declined with the understanding that he would sign a long term contract with them for a much higher salary. He had a handshake deal with them. Which he reneged on and he took his client to Utah and told the Cavs to go screw themselves. So there are good reasons for people hating him around the league. People don't forget that kind of crap.

Hopefully Jeanie is too dumb to fire Pelinka. Magic basically admitted that he wasn’t cut out for the job. Lakers are basketball hell right now. Young players don’t want to be there, vets minus LeBron are wasting away. LeBron himself might get traded. Shits nasty and I love it.

Lots of work to be done with the Lakers roster with all the unrestricted free agents they have now. For instance Muscala. They traded Zubac for him and now they have nothing. The price you pay for this type of ineptitude is you have to now go out and find a free agent center to replace Zubac with. Chandler and McGee also unrestricted free agents. So resign them or replace them but either way it is a difficult and time consuming job trying to construct a roster around Lebron that is going to work.

If you assume LeBron has 2 seasons left as a top 10 player then the Lakers need to surround him with 2-3 top 20 players in their prime to have a hope at a championship.
Frankly the window is probably closed for him now. A top 20 player does not want to be LeBron's sidekick and LeBron is too old to carry a bunch of journeymen to the finals.
If they stick with LeBron, then trade all of their young guys for someone like Bradley Beal, sign Boogie Cousins then just be happy to make the playoffs.

The problem the Lakers have is they now have an owner who drinks the Laker kool aid just as much as the fans do. Not operating on a plane of reality.
