Clippers + 8.5. So we have lost DeMarcus Cousins for the series. Not sure it matters much for the Warriors. Cousins had a -17 of his +/- total in the first game and proved he was a major negative when defending the pick and roll with Lou and Montrezl in the game. So Cousins out not a major gain for us. But he does soak up minutes which means Bogut and Looney have to play a lot more. And speaking of Looney obviously we have to adjust the defense to account for him cutting into the paint and getting easy buckets. Like V-Ice has been saying we can't let their reserves beat us. That Quin Cook guy hurt us a lot too last game. Three for three from the three point range. But I guess if these two guys are the two who beat us I can live with that. Just keep doubling Curry and Durant into poor shooting games.
Staples will be infected tomorrow with a bunch of vermin wearing yellow and blue jerseys. And that vermin makes a lot of noise when the Warriors score. I hope this is a home game for us instead of the Warrior fans buying up all of the tickets and making it like a home game for them. Their fans do know how to travel. I learned that last time we played them at Staples in the playoffs and they are pretty damn loud even in regular season games. Almost as bad as the Lakers games we host.
Prognosis for this game is we have to win it if we want to win the series. I can't imagine us taking another game at Oracle so we need to win all of our home games. They still have two of the five best players on the planet and beating their asses is just going to make them more focused and determined to win this game and take control of the series. But Green and Thompson have not been that good for them so far. So just beat up Curry and Durant with traps and double teams and let Thompson and Green try and beat us. We have Thornwell. Send him into the game to hit Curry as many times as possible until he fouls out. Not sure if our renewed confidence is going to translate to improved play or just a lot of aggressive fouls being called on us that will help the Warriors. Gallo and Shamet need to get open for three pointers just like last game. Lots of screen and rolls coming.
I am about as proud of this Clippers team as I have been of any Clippers team in the past. They have been bringing it the entire season so I expect them to do it in this game and compete hard. I guess we will have to wait and see if it translates into a win or not. Go Clippers.
