It’s all speculation until the Clippers actually get someone. I’m all for KD and Kawhi if that happens. I’d love to see a starting lineup of Shai, Shamet, Kawhi, KD, and Trez with Pat, Rome, Lou, Zu and we’d be able to preserve Kahwi’s heath.

To me its very simple
Plan A (shoot for the stars dream plan):
Sign Kawhi, trade Gallo + SRP for S&T KD, S&T PatBev + Lou Will + SEGA (with SEGA's improvement might not need to throw in the 2021 MIA FRP) + PHI 2020 prot FRP for AD, sign best ring chasing PG for Room Exception (5ish mil), re-sign Zubac to a value deal starting at 5m
Plan B (realistic but needs some luck with KD's choice of spots to land at):
Sign Kawhi, trade Gallo + 2 SRP for S&T KD, re-sign PatBev to value deal (8mil like Lou Will), try to resign Temple with remaining cap (prolly like 2-3mil tops), re-sign JaMychal Green with Room Exception, re-sign Zubac to a value deal starting at 5.5m
Plan C (1 superstar + solid FA signings)
Sign Kawhi, re-sign PatBev (3 yr 27m), sign Nikola Vucevic or Jonas Valanciunus (3 yr 50m 3rd year Team Option), re-sign JaMychal Green with Room Exception, re-sign Zubac
Plan D (get no one):
Clipper fanbase collectively cries and stops bothering to follow the Clippers since even in this ideal scenario they cant sign any top tier FAs.
Plan C's roster is intriguing
C - Vucevic, Zubac
PF- Gallo, Harrell
SF- Kawhi, Green
SG- Shamet, Lou WIll, JRobinson
PG- SEGA, PatBev
Lots of players on tradeable deals, which could be thrown together in a mid season deadline deal, while also having the PHI/MIA FRPs in the trade warchest.

I don't see KD coming here. As good as he is as a player I'd rather not have him and what he brings so I'd rather root for something else. I do want Kawhi though, he'd be a fantastic fit and I can see him fitting into what we have beautifully

The only other way to sign both would be for one or both to take a pay cut. Which seems very unlikely.

We currently have about 60 million in cap space for the summer. Trading Gallo for no salary brings us up to 83 million in cap space. Max for Durant and Kawhi is 38 million each. Leaves us about 7 million left for Beverley. We can probably clear another million or two if we release Thornwell or Wallace if need be. |

Yeah my numbers were off, we do have to trade Gallo to fit two max contracts in, but that should be easy, he’s a good player on a one year deal who can help a lot of teams. We can get as much as 83 mill in cap space if we trade Gallo, cut Thornwell and cut Wallace. As Dyce said, that would leave us 7 mill to bring back Beverley, should be enough I think.
After that we would have the room exception and the bi-annual exception to sign two more guys above min level. We also have a 9.8 mill TPE from the Harris trade till 2/6/20.
Zubac will be an RFA but his cap hold is small, we can go over the cap to re-sign him.
Rest of the roster has to be min contract guys or 2nd round picks (I think we have two 2nd rounders in the next draft).

Gallo is a good player, but he's not making 20m for a contending type team. I'd really prefer if we could deal him for some other stuff even if it has to be midseason.
