Rockets +6 first game. I am not going to do game threads this year for this series. But a single thread for all the games is what I am going with.
We gave the Warriors a tough time while the Rockets were resting. Both Curry and Thompson sprained their ankles last night. I would happily cheer for our neighbors up north if I did not think this series will break up that team. Therefore I have to cheer for the Rockets and hope some of the Warriors leave this summer in free agency. Especially Durant. This means I have to cheer for James Harden and CP3. Not the easiest sell. Eric Gordon and Capela are guys the Warriors have to guard. So that leaves Tucker. How much can they cheat off of him to double Harden. Expect Klay on Harden or maybe even Green. Maybe Bogut can start and guard Capela and protect the rim. Warriors reserves are much weaker than they have been in the past. Livingston does not look like he has it anymore. And of course Cousins is out which weakens the bench.
I think the first game is a crucial one for the Rockets to win. And we need them to win and break up this Warriors team.

I'm taking Warriors in 5. I hope the Nuggets or Warriors go all the way.

Ok, Houston, they’ve been banged up for you and served on a platter — no Cousins, no Curry, no Klay — if you can’t take game one, falling on your sword by forfeiting the following 3 games would be the only honorable thing to do.

Very controversial game 1. You can bet you'll see at least 3-5 fouls called on 3 pointers next game

It's going to be hard for me to have any sympathy for a team based on bad calls by refs. Not after what they did to us with Scott Foster.

Given the outcry against the officiating by players on both teams, by players around the league, I think it's clear that it's time for the league to step up and let players and fans make the foul calls. Sure there might be occasional disagreements (as there were on also every call and non-call in the game), but that's just a technical issue that would be easy to iron out.

I don't like the way the Rockets play the game. They depend on fouls being called to win. Maybe the refs did miss a few yesterday but we never had that problem when we played the Warriors. Most of our three pointers are set shots by guys who are open to take them. They are not jumping in the air and flopping in front of the defender to get the call if they don't make the shot. It makes it difficult for the refs to officiate those kinds of plays. So a lot of the problem is with the Rockets strategy. A lot of these shots should be offensive fouls when they kick out their legs to make contact with the defender. Curry did that to Shamet in one of the games and was rewarded with three free throws.
Egor had a very good game. CP3 played like crap and cost them the game with his technical fouls and his five turnovers and missed free throws. Hard to cheer for these guys. Hate the way they play the game.

I can respect your hate for the way they play but dang you can't separate the hate for the rockets and be objective when they are getting the shaft?....obviously no....but thats ok...

Teams have complained about Hardens uncalled traveling step-backs all year, and I didn't hear you agreeing with them and wanting the refs to call a better game. Now all of a sudden it goes the other way and poor Harden is getting the shaft? Cry me a river.

I know for a fact and would be willing to put money up that I could find more legit Harden step-backs than you could find that were not...you keep showing the same ole video. I agree the refs have missed a few of his step-backs but there are also videos of refs explaining how his step back is not a walk.....this guy was head of referees for years....just keep hating on the man.... Using your video above was the very last step back he did to seal the game a walk?
