I am not convinced it matters whether they win or lose to him. He either wants to come here or he doesn't. He either wants to be living back near his family and friends here, or he doesn't. He didn't volunteer to play for this team. He's an odd guy. I don't think this kind of emotional stuff is what will lead to his decision. I think he thinks he will win no matter where he's at, so the decision probably isn't about that factor as much as fans think it is. I agree. He certainly has the emotional path to get out of TOR without looking/feeling like he made an unvirtuous move. He's got the "want to be near family", "want to be in hometown", and "didn't choose to be here" points for making a move to LA. He can move without being a villain. He'll lose some money and a year of contract length, but he believes that he'll play beyond four years in LA and get more big contracts, that won't be a huge issue. If I were him I'd insist that the Clips keep Beverley. Shore up the front line reserves with quality, maybe keep Green, get rid of all the dead wood, and we don't need another superstar.

I don't think we can keep both Green and Beverley and also sign Leonard without dumping Gallo. Am I wrong?

Don’t have the exact numbers but I think we have about 57M in space without dumping Gallo. That should be enough to sign Kawhi, Bev and Green. We also gave Bev’s bird rights so we can go over cap to sign him.

I wonder if we could win a title just by adding Leonard to the team we have now (bring back Green and Bev), and then hope Durant leaves GS for the Knicks. If the Warriors lose Klay too, even better. In other words, could we close the gap on GS by just adding Leonard to our roster and subtracting Durant from theirs? I think it would be a lot closer than people think.

Durant is playing tonight.
Risky for him. If they lose (and they may well lose tonight) it damages his claim that the Warriors were only losing because he was out.

Looks like the second part has already taken place, even if Durant stays with GS, he will almost certainly miss most or all of next season. Now we just gotta go out and try to land Kawhi.

That would be great ( KL) and it pretty much assures us of resigning Bev.
