This is where context matters. I won't argue Mitchell probably has more value, he's younger and a more dynamic scorer. But I'm also not convinced we would be better with him. So what's the point of having the more valuable player? Do we need someone who can take the extra shots? Or are we better off with the more efficient scorer and better defender? If I had to choose which guy I'd rather have as my number 1 option I'd take Mitchell, but I'm not convinced he'd play as well within a team. He might, but we've also seen him have that little bit of old school Westbrook in him where he tries to do too much. And we've also seen him not give great effort on defense, whereas George has that great size for the position. It would be a super risky trade to just avoid paying George a big contract.

That wouldn’t be risky, it would be recklessly negligent. Breaking up the hottest team in the league to replace PG, a 6’8” 4-times all-defensive player who shoots 42% from the 3 for Mitchell, a 6’3” player who shoots 34% from the 3 with no particularly remarkable defensive skills? If I’m the owner and my GM pitches me this idea I fire him on the spot, then try to think up some sort of severe punishment to myself for hiring him in the first place.

"No particularly remarkable defensive skills"? What are you talking about? Look who's #1 in defensive ws (hint - PG is #39) - www.nba.com/stats/players/defenseHow about overall defensive rating? Mitchell is #9. www.nba.com/stats/players/advanced-leadersApart from defense, how about PER? Mitchell is #15 and PG #53- www.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics
