If Kawhi is ruled out for playoffs, how would you feel about it? Especially after signing extension..

Business as usual for NBA contracts. And MLB, etc.

Kawhi had a knee inflammation issue on April 2, 11 days ago. Inflammation goes away in a few days, almost instantaneously with a shot of steroids, which is not recommended, especially if you have a degenerative condition like Kawhi has. He actually could have played the last 2-3 games but there was no need — might as well let the knee rest as much as possible.
He will have rested 18-19 days by the time the first playoff game starts. I am not worried. If anything, I worry about his conditioning after he has been idle for almost 3 weeks. Hopefully he has been keeping up his cardio to max conditioning.

I believe teams that have 5+ days off in between series either lose game 1 of the next series, or have one of the worst first halves offensively of the season.
I don't have any observations or data points for defense after that same period of time off.

Not a great thing to hear, but still wanna see if the Clippers reporters have anything on this. Woj also reported yesterday there isn't much concern so I'd trust him over Broussard.

Kawhi will play and the Clippers will win Game 1.
