Atrocious shooting. Amazing that it was so close. Shooting 36% and 26% from the 3 on 30 shots? We should have lost by 20.

Either Dallas or Indiana.
One of the non Pacers games will have both teams in the same game under 102.
You called it!! Thanks.
Had a question for you here:

7 more fastbreak points.
10 more points in the paint.
14.1% better from the foul line.

Not many minutes for Mann or Coffey? Plus Theis didn’t play?

I am with Shaq, I think Leonard's presence changed the offense for the Clippers. He had the most shots and their was too much deference to him with this being his 1st game back. Obviously you get him back in as soon as you can so he can get back acclimated to the game shape but you could tell he was rusty.

Stagnant iso heavy offenses will always have struggle moments and be easier to game plan in the playoffs.
Kawhi looked understandably rusty. Defense was mostly good outside of a few lapses and back breaker 3s. Mavs are beatable but we are not contenders.

I guess you gotta look at this as we were just shooting for it to be 1-1 and Kawhi to play in game 3. Looks like he needed a game, I expect him to improve as the series goes. Mavs did a good job turning it into prison ball. They were slamming into our guys. Not sure if this will be a series for Plumlee. I'd consider Theis or even PJ if they're allowing prison ball rules. PJ and Kleber going 5-7 from 3 is pretty flukey.

Tucker can not see PT in this series. I can see maybe trying Theis over Plumlee since Dallas isnt that big.
Its easy to be more physical when we dribble up up slow, stand still, and have one person waste a bunch of time and movement to take a iso fadeaway. Attack the basket and dish for better look 3s. Thats when our offense is the best and hardest to defend. See first half Game 1. For the life of me I will never figure out why they get away from it constantly.

I think the Clippers are the deeper team. They got the games they needed from Washington and Kleber. Overall I'm a little less impressed with their role players than I thought I'd be, but more impressed with Kyrie. His shot making is incredible as it always is and while he's not going to be able to guard our bigger wings, he is competing hard on that end. People kept saying how the Mavs, for as good as their 2 stars are, those guys are defensive liabilities. Even Luka had a pretty good defensive game. I definitely think we can be competitive in the next 2 in Dallas.

Not that anyone is having a great shooting game, but I think it's time for repeated double teams on Doncic, to disrupt them. Yeah but that leaves Irving with room to operate or shoot Irving isn't right next to Doncic.
It usually takes a few passes to get the ball from Doncic to Irving, and hopefully by then more clock will be eaten up, and the Clippers can get some deflections.
Single coverage wasn't working that well.
I am not saying double team all the time, but mix in a few.
Or, sometimes Doncic will try for a tough shot over a double team. Regardless, it would work better than doing single coverage all the time.

That's how you make series shorter.
The Clippers themselves did it against Denver in 2020.
So far this series could follow this path. You can see what Dallas did in games 3 and 4 at home:

In general, I think the Clippers have more players that can impact the game when they're not scoring, with Powell and Westbrook and Zubac.
Doesn't mean it always happens, but Lively Jr., Jones Jr., Josh Green, and Washington usually don't do much if they're not scoring.
Gafford though, can contribute.
Doncic and Irving are a pretty good steals combo, so it helps when your best players can do that.

Barkley was the one that said the other Clippers were deferring too much to Kawhi.
