This has been a bad week for California. Feel bad for Paradise and Thousand Oaks. As well as my Malibu neighbors. I guess most of us will survive and go on. But I feel bad for those who didn't and wont. Stephen Hawking gives a good explanation in his posthumously published new book as to why there is no God. And no afterlife. Rational yes. But I can certainly understand people who have lost loved ones would need to believe otherwise.

We had to evacuate yesterday. Our home is good for now but we are still in a mandatory evac area. Its like a police state over here. 101 closed and you have to show your ID to get around anywhere in the immediate vicinity. Missed the game in person today because of all this. Too bad, it looked like a good game and a great win. But we have other things on our minds today. Most importantly we are safe and our home is still there.

I evacuated my parents house a couple days ago. Not fun. They live in West Hills. House is OK so far. About 12 houses down from what was the front line.
