Who wins title next season if KD leaves? Teams that can afford him include Knicks, Nets, Lakers and Clippers.
Actually Dallas would be interesting with Luca, Smith Jr. and DJ. Second time Barnes gets bumped for KD.

I think either Green or KD are gone. I can see GSW trading Green as part of their bid to retain KD.

Since Durant has signed his 3rd contract in a row, do the Warriors now have Bird Rights? It sounds like it. www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q32Then they have Bird Rights for everyone (Curry, Thompson, Green, Durant), except Cousins.

Well the choice may not be up to the Warriors. Durant has been dogged by both fans and the media for signing with the Warriors. Starting fresh with a new team is probably enticing.

I side with Green on this. Durant's impending free agency has been a story for 3 seasons in a row now, with the Warriors. It didn't have to be this way.

There is a great chance we land KD and Kawhi this off-season.

I agree that it's something at this point. Usually even when it is something teams and players are quick to deny that it's anything. But there's something different about this. Seems like Durant feels disrespected and maybe justifiably if the team is suspending Green for it. A reporter gave Durant a chance to downplay it and he avoided the question. I think they'll get over it as the season goes, but things may never be totally cool between them. Not when the team draws a line in the sand and takes the side of the guy who just got there in your mind.

That is a DEEP cut on a teammate. KD is the kind of guy who will hold that grudge for a while.

Kenny Smith said last night that nobody has ever willingly left a championship team after they have won the championship. Implication being that Durant stays if they win it again. Green could very well be forced off the team. Barkley said it is all in Durant's hand. Warriors will do whatever it takes to keep him happy and on the team. He said they are selling personal seat licenses in the new arena for 25K each. Wow. People have to put up 100K just to get four season tickets to the games.

MJ retired twice from championship teams.

Kenny Smith is wrong. There are people that have left championship teams. Or cases when a team didn't want the player back (in lieu of an alternative). He just didn't want to do the research.
There's also as much possible tension between Curry and Durant, and Green and Durant.
Still, the Warriors could pay them all if they wanted to.
Even if Durant leaves, the Warriors will probably find other good alternatives for good players, somehow.

I'm thinking of another surprise Cousins scenario. Not necessarily someone injured like him, but someone who still signs at a reduced price for a year.
I also agree that West can help compete for the same players. And draw them to the Cliopers.
