Can we resign Harris and still have room for 2 max free agents?

I think Tobias has a decision to make. 1- Get paid. 2- Take a team friendly deal and become part of something potentially really special.

The way a lot of players see it, is that they're good enough to make almost any situation "really special". So he'll get paid, and think that he can change another situation (if it's not the Clippers) into becoming really special.

Honestly, we only have room for one max guy unless we move or stretch Gallo. We have about 60 million in cap space. But keep in mind a max contract is different between guys based on service time and awards won. Example a max contract for Butler next summer starts at 32.7 million next year. While a max contract for Kawhi starts at 38.1 million. www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/07/early-maximum-salary-projections-for-201920.html

West can move Gallo if he stays relatively healthy.

So the answer is that we can't realistically resign Harris and also two more max players (assuming we don't move Gallo) right?

West can move Gallo if he stays relatively healthy. Gallo has played himself into being a pretty good asset. A guy that is 6'10", can play both forward spots, and shoots well over 40% from three. He fits perfectly into the modern NBA. This summer there was talk about giving up a draft pick just to get him off the team, now we should get a draft pick in return. The problem is, trading him means giving up on this season.

Unless it’s Durant and Kawhi no one else is worth that kind of money. Just sign Durant or Kawhi and Harris ( 25M) and we will be as good as anybody. Use whatever you have left on other free agents. I believe we have Lou, Trez, Galo, Scott and the rookies locked up, as well as team options on a couple other players. I think we pick up Ty’s extension and would like to resign Bobi as well (fan fave).

I'm amazed that the Heat lead the league with a $158M payroll, and $135M next year.

I think trading him at the trade deadline would mean bringing up Motley from the G-League, who I genuinely think can make up for a lot of the lost production from losing Gallo. Of course we won't know if Motley can handle NBA action until we try, but I strongly suspect he can do it.

If Gallo stays healthy, he's a nice addition to this team and an expiring contract next year. They aren't going to dump him for a low first round pick and cap space.

If you look at the Motley stats it says he is only shooting 28% from three point range. Not good enough. The 58% from the field drops drastically with better defenders guarding him at the NBA level. Not in Gallo's league as far as shooting the three. It seems like the only stat that counts anymore for a big to make it in the NBA is how well he shoots the three. He seems to be similar to Harrell. Not to Gallo. We need our bigs to space the floor. Like Gallo does. I wonder if this guy Motley was going to be Harrell's replacement if somebody else signed him as a free agent. And why did Dallas dump him for nothing if Motley was so good.
I would take KD in a heartbeat on a two year player option on the second year. A player that good you take him regardless of what kind of contract he wants.
