Now this is what I call a good start to a game thread. Kudos Mistwell. Have a good time at the game.
We have more rest. We have homecourt advantage. We have more depth. Have not seen the Grizzlies play yet this year so whatever magic they have captured other than having Conley back and healthy I am not familiar with. But it is legitimate and they have to be considered a playoff contender at this point. Hard to believe that we are a month into the season and the only team in the Western Conference that you can really count as out of the playoffs is the Suns. I thought there would be three or four teams out of it already and that we would be one of them. Well we need to win today to keep it going because Sunday at Portland is not looking too promising.

Where is Tobias in the 4th quarter? He seems to disappear.

What is our record in overtime this season? It's gotta be close to a franchise best right?

Was hoping Mistwell would fill us in on what he saw at Staples. Always better to hear from someone who saw it live.

It was my friend's birthday. He bought 5 seats next to his regular seats and a group of us had the VIP season ticket holders brunch (which was excellent) and cake for his birthday. They gave us season Yearbooks which has a profile on all team members and main team staff (and Chuck, Clippers Spirit, and related people). Went back to our seats, and his season ticket contact came by and gave us upgrade tickets to row B, section 110, on the house!
We moved down at half time. Billy Crystal's seat was close enough I could have pegged it with some popcorn. Menu of items for free. Basket right in front of us. We had to suddenly watch what we'd normally yell out because the players could definitely hear us. My friend made the broadcast briefly.
Surprisingly, I could see LESS of the court from those seats rather than more. If a player was in front of me, I couldn't see another player behind him on the other end of that side of the court.
Observations: Bradley played well. So did Beverley. I could see the impact of their defense on the Grizz. Williams was obviously not feeling great and I saw him sweating out there, but he still communicated with the team a lot and organized defense and offense. SGA was playing hard, and the Grizz were trying their best to be physical with him. He took it, and never complained. He can slash to the basket so fast, and find holes in defense that don't initially look like there are holes. His shot wasn't always great, and he made a couple of rookie mistakes, but I really liked what I saw. Trez was amazing to see. He played so hard, for so many minutes.
People hate Gortat, and I don't get it. He was fine out there. He played as well as anyone against Gasol, and when he was out there the score was roughly tied the entire time, which is so helpful for the endurance of the other players like Trez.
Harris was having an off game. Not sure why. His shots looked good, but they were just slightly off for whatever reason. His defense was OK however. Gallo looked good out there. I've been so happy with his play this season. Such a difference from last season, where even when he was playing he looked off. Now, I think he has something to prove.
Grizz are good. Their coach was sooooo pissed about the fouls being called against them. The new rules just don't work well with their kind of tough defense and that's really what was holding them back from winning. They will need to adjust or they will not last in the rankings like they have.

You were facing the TV camera then which faces the two teams benches. First half of those lower bowl seats were empty. Second half most of those seats are mysteriously filled. I guess they upgraded a lot of people. It was a great game. Memphis basically had it won and we took it away from them. Nothing wrong with playing tough defense. Conley fouled out on offensive fouls. Not defensive. Nobody on out team could guard Gasol or Jackson Jr. Those two guys were killing us all game long. Agree with the people who say that Jackson just may be the rookie of the year. He scores a lot of points without a great amount of difficulty on his shots. An effortless 20 against us. He outplayed Tobias.
Lucky for us that Gallo, Harrell, Bradley, and yes even Lou made a lot of big plays for us in the last five minutes and overtime or we would have been toast against these guys. Gallo hitting the big three free throws at the end of regulation was absolutely clutch. Clippers fans should love this guy since his five for eight from three point land kept us in the game. And what can you say about Harrell. Guy just does not quit in any game and makes big play after big play at the end of games just because he wants it more than the opposition. Energy is definitely a skill and he has it.
