www.rotoworld.com/teams/clubhouse/nba/lac/los-angeles-clippersBig game tonight. Let's look at Bradley. He isn't scoring, rebounding, or assisting yet. But he was a hell of a defensive presence against Mike Conley last game. He needs to pick it up on offense. Our guards have not been very good three point shooters. Between Bradley, Shai, Lou, and Beverley the highest percentage is Beverley and Lou at 32%. Among our forwards shooting threes the lowest among Gallo, Harris, and Scott is Harris at 43%. So the bulk of our good three point shots are coming from the forwards. Guards need to pick up the pace. I think Bradley was out last time we played Portland. He is in tonight. Clamp down on Lillard and McCollum. Get those defensive boards in the fourth quarter. And we are on our way to another win.

Another thing we have to do is avoid stretches of one-on-one play. Like last time we played Portland, it was a three point game after three quarters when we went on a stretch of missing long 2’s and 3’s by Lou, Shai, and Scott, going 2-9 with only 1 assist and one TO, while Portland scored with efficient plays led by Myers Leonard (7 pts) to go on a 14-4 run with 4 assists and 2 blocks. Then we were down 98-85 and traded baskets for the rest of the game. The final margin of the game was basically set by that one bad run.
It’s hard enough to win on the road in Portland without have 5 minute stretches of lapses.

We missed a lot of easy shots against Memphis, lets hope the Clippers have got that out of there system by now. Don’t rush every shot, please.
And we gave up a lot of easy shots by our bench by leaving the paint unprotected to bigs cutting back door or rolling off screens.
POR's star guards get all the attention, but let's not lapse and give up freebies to their efficient bigs.

We really came out smoking hot in the third quarter and without Nurkic in the game were able to force Lillard and McCollum into shooting from the perimeter. And they missed a whole lot of those shots with Bradley and Shai harassing the hell out of them. I think we outscored them 38 - 16 in that quarter. We did not really have a great game offensively either. Tobias shot well and scored 34 but Lou was complete garbage in this game and Harrell missed eight free throws. Most of them were absolutely needed in the fourth quarter. But a win is a win and I will take a win at Portland any day of the week regardless of how bad we shot and how badly we got outrebounded.
Why Teodosic and not Wallace as the substitute off the bench in the second quarter? That did not make a whole lot of sense but Milos played well. Would like to see more minutes for him. And Doc yanked Lou Williams with three minutes left in the game because he was playing so badly. Made sense to trade offense for defense at that point but still Lou is our closer and it was unusual. Thing I love about this Clippers team is that we play hard most games and have a strong bench to relieve our starters. Bench failed us this game with Lou playing badly the whole game and Harrell missing all those free throws but Tobias and Gallo came in and bailed them out at the end by making big three pointers and getting key rebounds. We should improve from here. Shai, Lou, and Bradley all expected to be better on offense going forward.

Tobias hit another level in this game. He attacked the basket more rather then settling for long 2's. Hope this continues.
I have to think that Tez's missed free throws had to do with he was just tired. He comes in mid third and ends up playing the rest of the game.
