Clippers by 2.5. www.rotoworld.com/teams/clubhouse/nba/no/new-orleans-pelicansTough game tonight. Pelicans need to win this game and so do we. Mirotic may play tonight along with Davis, Holiday, and Randle. These guys can score the ball and our defense sucks. So we need to outscore them in a high scoring game. TWolves beat them Saturday night 110 - 106. Pelicans should be a lot better than their record indicates and they may try and start their surge against us. Lots of scorers from two point range but pretty ordinary shooters from the three point range. So I suggest we keep them out of the paint and let them shoot threes.

We need to figure out a way to get Gortat up to speed with what's happening here in LA. We need him to defend big bodies and pose enough of a threat on the offensive end to at least create a thought from the opponent that he might score. Maybe give Motley some run?

Doc wont play Motley. Because he treats every game like a must win game and he will not use players in critical situations that he isn't familiar with. Gortat is what he is. He plays as well as he can. That is certainly a weakness though. We need better play from the center and the starting guards. Only games we have won lately were against weak teams or when Lou and Harrell had really big games. We can outshoot these guys from the field but we can't let them kill us with offensive rebounds and put backs. Guys have to get those defensive boards or we will lose.

The announcers are super lazy this game. They go on for 5 minutes at a time about a random story or commentary about the league and not talk about the game at all.

On a side note, this is what I don't like about NBA TV's "Players Only" broadcasts. They go off topic and talk about their playing days, or something not related to the game, and for too long. While there's things I liked about previous eras, I also want to focus on the game at hand.

Why weren't the Clippers able to force more than 6 turnovers?

Seems like Lou should have drive and dished more, than shot.
Davis and Randle got inside a lot and got fouled.

This was a bad loss for our playoff chances. I see this season playing out a lot like last season, where the final 2-3 playoff spots in the west are going to come down to the last week of the season and may be decided by tie-breakers, the Pelicans could be one of the teams we are fighting with for a final playoff spot, along with the Spurs and Lakers most likely.

I thought someone said this was the easy part of our schedule. We lost 3 in a row, including 2 at home. I don't think we are really fighting to just get in to the playoffs. I think Ballmer would rather have a 1st round pick than get bounced by the Warriors in the first round. No clue what our plan is for post-trade deadline or next season. Bradley should go, but Doc treats him like a son. Tobias is nice, but clearly not a max contract guy. I don't know if we are attractive enough for a marquee free agent or have the pieces to trade for a franchise player. TBD. Sad that Rome Coldbucks isn't getting minutes. The guy turns 22 next month so we can't take the long-term development approach with him. Either he has it or he doesn't. I think he has it.

This freaking team really screwed up this game. Beverley steals Davis's sneaker and gets a technical and costs us a point and everybody thinks it is a big joke. Scott body blocks Randle or somebody and gets a flagrant foul that costs us two more. And we lose by four. And those points that we gave away affected possessions at the end of the game. We have Utah, Golden State, and at San Antonio coming up. We lose those three and it may be adios to our playoff hopes before we hit February. Lakers and Pelicans will both surge behind their superstars. Kings may be better than us right now. We are something like 26th in defense right now in points allowed. Not good at all. Shai is imploding and gave us nothing last night. Center still a big weakness and the Pelicans killed us in the paint. All adds up to having Harris and Gallo carry us and they are not good enough to do it.
