Clippers - 8.5. Oddsmakers at ESPN like us. Avery Bradley scored 33 last night on 21 shots with six rebounds and six assists. So he had to basically carry the Grizzlies offense and they still lost. No free throws so the Spurs must have just let him shoot. Well we need that kind of productivity from our starters tonight. Somebody has to step up in that starting lineup and score. Zubac and Temple both had miserable plus/minus scores because Beverley, Shai, and Gallo were not scoring enough. Plus, they were very poor defensively too. This should be a good practice game to get these guys back on track and then rest up for the All Star break. Phoenix is bad, they want to tank and get a high draft pick.
What I want to see tonight is a good game from Zubac. At least give us eight or nine defensive rebounds. And score at least that many points. We can't stay in the playoff race without Zubac playing at least mediocre. He was terrible at Minnesota and very good at Boston. So we will see what happens tonight. And Garrett Temple is really a bad player. Basically a 42% shooter from the field and 35% from the three point line. An 8.83 PER. I am not sure why we are playing this guy as a starter when we should have waived him and played Robinson at that position. Might as well see what we have with Jerome and he could not be much worse than Temple. We need more scoring from that starting unit and Temple isn't the answer. Even waiving Temple at the trade and playing Teodosic would have resulted in more scoring. So Zubac needs to play better, get Temple out of here, and win games like tonight and maybe we can stay in the playoff race.

Every game is big for us as long as we are in the playoff hunt. Let's hope this game is a Clippers victory since the Kings probably will lose tonight in Denver. Get us back in eighth before the break.

Temple will have a good game today.
I guess it was good for a bench role. I thought he would have a good game starting, though.
Interested to see Shamet start, though.

Shamet starting was a good idea. Provided better spacing for Zubac since they had to go and guard him at the three point line. When Mbah a Moute and Chandler come back we should keep Shamet in the starting lineup and move Beverley to the reserves. We need a shooting guard who shoots a lot of shots to play with Shai so they don't overload the defense on Zubac and Gallo. Shamet is that kind of player. Temple had a good game with the reserves. Reason being that Lou shoots the ball so much or assists Harrell in the two man game so much that they don't really need Temple to score. Just plays good D on his man to be effective. Wallace looked pretty good out there too. Looks like we are going to have a lot of options available once MaM and Chandler come back. Thinks look very promising for holding on to the last playoff seed or even passing the Spurs. Nine day rest coming up to get us ready for the stretch run.

It was a lot of fun. Shamet and Zubac are the real deal. Worthy lottery-level players. Shamet's release is so quick. And his defense is better than I expected. Zubac is better than Gortat. He's a bit raw, and his hands are a bit clumsy still, but he has the size and instincts to be a pretty good big man for us. Thornwell...not sure why we're still playing him. I don't think he's going to make it. Motley, still unsure. Has has tremendous size but he's really sloppy. SGA was quite good. Better than his stats probably show. Lou Wil was even better than his stats show as well - several assists which don't show up in the stats because the pass was to someone who took a dribble, or which was passed a second time. But damn his court vision is getting really good. We took the rare parking spot in the official garage to stay out of the rain and damn, $28? I'd rather take the $7 to $10 spots a block away.

Sham3t is Rip Hamilton with unlimited range. His defense is a lot better than I thought. I guess it’s easy to think that a skinny, prolific shooter is always a poor defender. Sham has looks like he has great instincts and could probably become a great defender.
This is the most aggressive and free I’ve ever seen Shai. It always looked like Shai was trying to be careful, not make mistakes and be a rookie which made him look tentative at times. I think with the trades being made, Shai realized he’s in the driver seat as the PG.
I think we have our starting backcourt for the future. Sham is already a great shooter with some moxie. Shai looks like he can be a really good shooter and scorer. Talk about scary. And also defensively. I think it’s just a matter of time and development before Shai and Sham become the best 2 way back court in the NBA.

Also, it was great to see Jamal Crawford back in Staples Center last night. And, he was great. The back and forth between him and Williams was so fun to see.
