Orlando is also an option. Good team, no income tax.
Lots of opportunity for him there. Team is younger, but they don't play like it.
They are the # 1 team at forcing turnovers.
San Antonio also has no income tax; cap space; Popovich, and a high profile star.

If he's part of the toughness problem, somebody else can overpay him to dribble the ball into defenders hands.

Using cap space to sign him to that deal isn't ideal. It's a little different for the Clippers since they can go over the cap. But if you look at unrestricted free agents who are reasonably available the names on there are pretty underwhelming. Could be negotiation tactics on both sides. If you're the Clippers I think the biggest thing is the years. Kawhi did 3 years. You wouldn't want to sign George to more years than that.

Hence they'd be using the Larry Bird Exception.
Unless you meant for other teams, you don't think it's a good idea those teams use cap space on George.

I wish George and Leonard were like the 1996 SuperSonics and had two players who averaged 2+ steals a game.
