The Kings bench is pretty awful with the injuries. How would they last a series? This has to be the end of the Warriors as we knew them. Steph and Draymond's last years, doesn't make sense to have them go out like this. They "sort of" go 8 deep, which is what you need for a playoff run. Lyles, Mitchell and Len are now awful, though Len didn't do great tonight and he's the worst of that bunch. They almost played 7 players total vs Suns recently in a game decided by one point, though Len did play 5 minutes in that game. Kings are the #1 defensive rebounding team.
Len had 4 rebounds in 9 minutes.
That is sufficient. Could be better, but he did what the Kings the Kings are supposed to be good at. 2 defensive, 2 offensive.

And the Clippers got put in a matinee game, game 2 is gonna be a must win. ABC likes the Clippers.
Good for a national audience.
Yeah they've been designated as the primetime game from the Sunday games. Needed the Lakers to lose and they would've put them in that time slot, while the Clippers would've gotten the night game. They're actually in that same time slot twice as game 4 will be at 1230pm as well.

Sacramento is 0 - 5 against the Pelicans. But Sacramento is a better road team than home team.
Most of the worst losses they've had this year have been at home. Whether against good teams, or against the Pistons and Hornets.

Wait, looks like the 2nd East play-in winner gets the earlier ABC game, so yeah, Clippers get the 2nd one.
Plus there's the Luka factor too. ABC loves both Luka and the Clippers.

My interpretation of this article, at the time I originally read it over a decade ago, was that the Pelicans ran the most pick and rolls in the league, with Evans, Gordon, Holiday. grantland.com/features/the-remaking-new-orleans-pelicans/Or maybe it was that one, combined with this one? www.si.com/nba/2015/10/08/anthony-davis-pelicans-alvin-gentry-jrue-holiday-tyreke-evansThe articles didn't say exactly that they ran the most pick and rolls in the league, but it was stated how important it was to them, and how efficient they were. The 2nd article says most efficient offense. So that's why I lament the injuries and absences Gordon, Holiday, and Evans had, because it seemed like the Pelicans had something unique going there, with those 3 and Anthony Davis. But they could never all be on the court together, due to injuries.

The Warriors made this shirt after Klay scored 37 in a quarter against the Kings on 100% shooting. Yes, it bothers me that the shirt doesn't say 2/2 on FTs, since that is a part of the record. i.imgur.com/M62Wwv7.pngThe Kings now need to do the reverse for Klay, based on this play-in game. First game of his career where he scored 0 points with at least 12 minutes.
It took more than 9 years for the Kings to finally get one on Klay.

This has to be the end of the Warriors as we knew them. Steph and Draymond's last years, doesn't make sense to have them go out like this. What did you say when the Warriors lost a play-in to the Lakers, then the Grizzlies (at home) in 2021?
What about when the Clippers beat the Spurs in the first round in 2015? The Spurs would follow it up with a 67 win season, almost going undefeated at home in the regular season. Their only loss at home was on April 10, 2016 to Golden State, in home game # 40.
I was rooting for the Spurs to go undefeated at home, because I knew we'd probably never see that again.
The Spurs did beat the Warriors at home 3 weeks prior too.
With trades and free agency, who knows what can happen.
I do remember a lot of people said the Spurs were done in 2015, after they lost in the first round to the Clippers. The fact that they followed it up with 67 wins means something. Then the year after that went to the WCF, where Kawhi Leonard got hurt in game 1.

That's a really weak 6-8. Yes I meant not awful. Len is not good, but Lyles and Mitchell are OK.

Laker/Pels game was exciting until Zion got hurt (again). No Ingram late for some reason. That Alvarado is a feisty lil bastard. Big corner D-Lo three iced it late.

My Bucks pick is already looking bad. Giannis Antetokounmpo out. The series hasn't started. You can change it IMO.
Since it hasn't started.
Then yes I am changing it to Pacers.
