How comfortable is everyone with KPJ having a pretty big role on this team? Cos talent wise, he's def up there on this roster.

I am. Personal non-basketball related issues aside, he is a good player. I have always liked his game. Tonight he looked quick, good dribbles/handles, took his shot when appropriate and wasn't afraid to shoot (hello T. Mann), tried to make some hard passes/lobs, some hit some didn't. He will spell Harden and could even be on the floor with him too. He is fast, energetic and fun to watch. I am encouraged by his addition so far. Great 6th man.

I am liking Porter Jr a lot. This kid can be a good one for us.

He'll get plenty of minutes because the likelihood of Kawhi playing before January is slim

Lue names his starting 5. 1 notable name missing, but at least they didn't draw this out with false hope.
James Harden Norman Powell Terance Mann Derrick Jones Jr Ivica Zubac

James Harden Norman Powell Terance Mann Derrick Jones Jr Ivica Zubac Brian said during the game last night that this was what he expected on opening night. So, I took that he already knew Leonard wasn't going to be playing.

KPJ could be the next Lou or Crawford for the team. He can give us scoring and not much else. With how offensively challenged this team is going to be we will need it.

I like what the team is doing defensively and how we are playing with a lot more pace. Of course, we played with better pace in preseason last year and that all disappeared as the season went on.
Kai can be a lot of fun to watch, so I hope he continues to get minutes when Bamba comes back.
I am more impressed with DJJ than I thought I would be.
When Mann signed his extension, I thought with an increased role his contract would start to look like a steal for the team, but I am starting to think that will be more the case with Zu.

Wasn't the question specifically about non-basketball issues? The gun charge and the dom. violence conviction/plea bargain? Are you comfortable with those?

As to the plea deal. It is a misdemeanor and there were questions about what happened. The police say he strangled her breaking a vertebrae and punched her in the face. She says he got physical with her causing her to fall and get cut on the face, but he didn't punch her in the face or strangle her. If he had broke a vertebrae, there would have been concrete evidence of that, it would not be a he said/ she said situation. I think if the DA had that evidence, we would not have seen this plead down to a misdemeanor. Police embellish things all the time.
That all being said, I think he's piece of crap and would rather not have him on the team, based on the facts that aren't disputed.
I am not sure what the appropriate punishment for him is. He will be serving his criminal sentence and has already lost the majority of a $80 million contract. And there are guys playing in the league with misdemeanor convictions.

Pretty divisive issue. I think rehabilitation is pretty important to our society so I'm not sure jettisoning people who make mistakes (and in this case an especially unsavory one) is the answer. I get it if some people want nothing to do with it, but in this high stakes professional environment of the NBA it can be so hard to acquire talent within the rules of the CBA that it can make you go to desperate lengths. You'd hope that the Clippers organization vetted him thoroughly and felt comfortable with where he's at to bring him on. My position is I'm a fan and I'd like my team to do what it can to achieve that. I also don't know much about the case or him as a person so from where I'm sitting, if he's shown to be humbled I'm ok with giving him a 2nd chance. However, if he does still show signs of immaturity or a failure of rehabilitation I'd want them to cut bait. This will always be a stain that follows him around so hopefully he's learned from it and can grow.

Apparently Porter Jr. threw food in a locker room one time.
And he and Christian Wood refused to play after halftime in another game.
