Even if Beal is waiting on Clippers or GSW, it shouldn't delay or affect his buyout with Phoenix. Which makes me think the buyout with Phoenix is taking longer than expected.

The latest reporting on this from Marc Stein is the hold up is over one of the clauses where Beal gets 25% advancement of his salary on July 15th so that seems to be the reason he is waiting until then. Other than that the buy out amount is already agreed upon and still expected to join the Clippers.

Horford may be turning the Warriors down after all. Not a done deal, but everyone expected that to happen. Personally I do think they are a good fit for Beal too even though this article seems to think they're not. I know the Kuminga situation is uncertain, but they already seemed like they were content not to play him when they're healthy and if they sign him I think they'd just do it to trade him so that they don't lose him for nothing. But I haven't heard too much about them being linked to Beal recently either.

Happy to get Chris Paul too, but pretty surprised he's accepting this role.

Happy to get Chris Paul too, but pretty surprised he's accepting this role. I think he wants to retire with a fanbase that cares about him. And this fan base was a bit bitter when he left, but he left in a way I thought was fair and I think he will be welcomed back. I know I'll wear my old CP3 shirt to a game given the chance.

Beal's ball handling allows us to use Dunn as a bench player since he can relieve Harden. I actually really like the lineup of Harden/Beal/DJJ/Kawhi/Zu against teams that don't have a big PF. If they do have a big PF then I'd prefer Harden/Dunn/Kawhi/Collins/Zu, but I'm pretty sure Beal is guaranteed a starting spot. It's not too big a deal, you can always go earlier to a sub but we have so many lineup combos to play with now. The Harden/Beal/Kawhi/Collins/Zu lineup will still be awesome offensively, they'll just be a little weak on the POA defender. They'll be hard to stop though. I also like that we aren't overloaded with guards so Lue really shouldn't be too tempted to play small lineups.
