I’m kind of glad we are struggling to win these easy games lately... Why? Come playoff time, they will be ready for close games..

DJ looked pretty good out there but statistically he was not much better than Zubac. So why pay all that extra money for him. Not sure what he will get for a contract this summer. Somebody sure could pay 20 million a year for him and it may be the Knicks. But who knows. Not liking the fact that we let the Knicks hang around in this game until the last five minutes. Point spread must have made it exciting for people who bet on the game. It bounced around between covering and not covering six or seven times in the last two minutes of the game. Mainly on garbage time plays that had no impact on who would win or lose the game. How do oddsmakers get the point spread so accurately most of the time. Like that Lou bailed us out again in this game by hitting shots in the fourth quarter. Harrell had a strong game too. Shai not so much. On to the TWolves tomorrow. Win that game and we are in the playoffs. I feel like DJ was kinda overrated when he was here. We haven't really missed him that much, especially for the price tag. There wasn't even a good market for us to trade him at the deadline last year. Dallas pretty much dumped him as filler in a trade. He'll probably sign an MLE type deal this off-season.

I still like DJ. He displayed an extraordinary amount of class and sportsmanship after the loss yesterday. He has always been a class act who got along well with his teammates. Always was great at representing the organization. It was good that he left so that we would not have to overpay him but if he wanted to come back for a reasonable amount of money I would be happy to have him back. Blake or CP3 are both overpaid IMO and I would not want them back at those salaries. But happy for Pistons fans that they will probably go to the playoffs with him. Hope he stays healthy this time out.

Have to agree with Dyce on this one: DJ won't get anything better than an MLE. And at that price, I'd love to have him back. He'd be a perfect complement to Zubac

I think DJ's value depends on the style of basketball a team needs to play. If a system needs a rim protector and rebounding machine, he's a very valuable piece. If a system is designed mostly around shooting and team-centric defense, then he's the wrong piece.

I would LOVE DJ at the MLE! What a bargain that would be.

DJ is still only 30 and could play another eight or nine years. He is having a lousy year in terms of switching teams and not getting consistent playing time and he still has a PER of 19.25 and over 13 boards a game. I think somebody may step up and give him four years at 60 million or something along those lines. But we will see. He is not a modern big in that he has no outside game and there are plenty of bigs that do. Vucevic, Marc Gasol, Haseem Whiteside will all be available this summer along with Jordan. Maybe Valenciunas too. So some of these guys will have to settle for the MLE.
