The rumor of discussions is Tristan Thompson and a Cavs first round pick for Gallinari.

Thompson is owed $38M over the next two years.

Frees up more playing time for Harris (see my proposed starting lineup in the other thread, for how I think I'd like to see the rotation).

The Rockets did this with the Anderson for Wright trade.

You trade one bad contract for a slightly lesser bad contract that has the same amount of years on it, in the hopes that the slightly lesser bad contract will be easier for you to dump. It's not a bad idea.
