That's kind of cool.
I don't know if it means that there were unrecoverable IT problems with ClipperTalk.com, and it won't be back.
Or if it means he wants to redirect people here, until he can bring it back.

Just another example of why I don't underestimate DoubleTechnical's passion.
mannycoon was posting some stats for CJ Wilcox 1 - 2 years ago, and concluded he wasn't good, in the time that he'd been given.
mannycoon wasn't responding to anyone, but just posting in general.
DoubleTechnical quoted that and said "how the fuck would you know if he never plays"? And then continued to lament on his lack of being given a chance.
If someone can get that passionate about CJ Wilcox, then to me, they're a Clippers fan.

I don't think double technical owes us a damn thing in any case. He wasn't getting paid so there was never a reason to trust him. And he blew apart our clipper community. If he did move he may very well have found another team in his own area to root for. Or he just got tired of running a website and let it go. Its all a moot point now. Hmmm...can’t reach this page Try this Make sure you’ve got the right web address: www.clippertalk.comSearch for "https://www.clippertalk.com" on Bing Refresh the page Details I can't see that keying in the whole URL directs you to this website. It just gives men an error as shown above.

That did work. Most everybody uses security now so it is unusual to use the old http. So maybe double technical is aware of this site. Maybe he will drop in on this thread and explain himself then we can all stop speculating. Hopefully, some of our old users follow the thread and join this forum and start posting.

Will it really matter if it does come back? There is no way to get the community to venture back.
* All he has to do is send out an email blast. He has everyone's registered email address. Hopefully he can figure out a way to collect them and send one out.
Maybe through the PM system he has.
* I'm the type of person that checks old bookmarks and sites, months afterwards, to see if they're ever back up. So some people will find it.
* I'm part of another forum. More than 2 years ago, the old server was taken down. 1.5 years after it was taken down, someone else bought the domain and put a redirect to the new forum.
2 people found their way to the new forum, through the redirect, even though it wasn't even up until 1.5 years after the server went down.
So, with DoubleTechnical's help, the redirect idea worked. He's redirecting people here. It worked for me on another forum a few years ago, and it's working again now for ClipperTalk. So, this is why I think we can still get the community back, to a reasonable level.

I just speculated that perhaps now his move was more extreme, and he moved out of the country. I have no idea if he did, but if he did, then there are a lot of lifestyle adjustments to be made when moving out of the country, and still following sports overseas. It can be done, as shown by our UK and German posters. But it is an adjustment. He's also a Dodgers fan, so he wouldn't give that up either. No, he wasn't getting paid, but he paid for ClipperTalk.com himself. corkscrew asked him a few times if he could help contribute. He said no, he didn't want to take contributions.

I am pretty sure he's in Utah. Company he works for is still there, and I've seen his name in the edit files on that companies website in the past three weeks. I just sent him a message on linkedin. Which is not likely to get a response any time soon because, well, nobody checks linkedin messages

I was just speculating that perhaps he could have moved out of the country, given how none of us have heard from him in 2.5 months. But I had not checked the edit files on his company's website. Since you did check, then that confirms he hasn't moved. Let's see if he attends the Feb. 27th game in SLC this year. He's reported back on several games @ Utah over the past few years.

Wow, OK I know what the new message is about now. Go to a fresh browser and enter www.clippertalk.com as the url. You will find it forwards automatically HERE now. It's now working without the www part, which is too bad. But, if you put the full url in, it's now auto forwarding here. So...he knows about us here. That's good then. My guess is he probably just didn't have the time/money to maintain that site anymore. Shit happens.

That is what I was thinking too. He does not want to hear about technical changes that should be made or searches that do not work correctly. Especially for a site he does not really give a damn about. But we are lucky that nuraman00 started this site and I thank him for it. Now if he wants to complain he has to complain to himself. By the way nuraman00 I do not like it that there is no "first unread" button in a thread anymore. I don't like to page through posts I have already read. Could you fix that? LOL.

By the way nuraman00 I do not like it that there is no "first unread" button in a thread anymore. I don't like to page through posts I have already read. Could you fix that? LOL. There's 2 things you can do. 1) Click on the "Recent Posts" link at the top to get a list of threads that have been updated. If you check the boards frequently, then it will show threads that you have already read too. 2) To jump directly to the newest unread post within a thread, click DIRECTLY on the "NEW" button. It will jump you to the post that you haven't read yet, as long as you were logged in the last time you read that thread. If you click on the link itself, then it will not jump you. You have to click on the NEW button. In general though, because I don't have access to the back end software (Only Pro Boards does), I can only rely on plug-ins to enhance some features. Or I can put in a request on the support board and see if someone volunteers to do it, like I did with the longer SN request. I can make some light changes on the UI itself, just not something that involves major functionality, without someone developing a plug-in for it. As for DoubleTechnical's site, I loved a lot of the functionality, including the searching. It was a better implementation than I've seen on most other boards. The only thing I suggested was that he bring back to emojis that he used to have a few years ago.

Aw. The NEW button on threads. Jumps right to where you left off. That is very helpful in using this new board. The "Recent Posts" seems to be the default so that does not change much for me but good to know. Thanks for the help.
DoubleTechnical has not even posted here that I can see. So I just do not think he is into the Clippers anymore. People frequently change their favorite teams when their favorite players leave the team. I used to be a Dodgers and Lakers fan. But I switched off of them. So it does happen to even the most loyal fans. Especially if you move to a different state and don't have access to your teams games anymore. Very well he could be cheering for the Jazz as his team right now. Or follow college basketball. Or not even care about basketball anymore. Who knows. But what I do know is when people get older their responsibilities change and they no longer have the time or energy to put into their hobbies like maintaining a Clippers message board. But we thank him for his past efforts. And it looks like the community was saved thanks to Nuraman00 so we thank him too.
