Reason why I didn't predict a sweep, was because I didn't think Minnesota had it in them.
But with all of their stars, and Naz Reid, playing well, maybe they can do it.

Game 3 of this prediction will be the one to see if it happens. Looking good on this one, I still have a perfect series going. I also had Minn in 5, though I didn't predict gamy by game outcome. I have them advancing past the Nuggets too in my predictions. That series will be as good as any all postseason, probably the 2 best teams.

I won't necessarily stick to what I predicted in that predictions game, when I do round by round predictions, for all series, at the start of each round.

So when I had Minnesota losing game 4, at the start of the round, I thought they would have a game where they never got within striking distance.
So far, in game 4, that's not the case. Minnesota has tried hard to win this game, and they could.
Edwards just had one of the best dunks of the playoffs, when taking into account the occasion and time of the game.

I'm sure the Suns didn't expect to get swept in the first round

I didn't think Edwards was worth a # 1 pick.
He proved me wrong this year. He's not a chucker. He plays defense.
He's a good team player.

Edwards also credited Towns for their 2nd half.

Seeing Finch get hurt reminded me of when Nate McMillan got hurt while coaching Portland in practice. He ruptured a tendon.
Yes that was practice, this is a game, but similar in that they are tough injuries that will take a while to heal.

I'll tabulate round by round results for those who participate at the start of each round.
I've done it in the past.

Edwards also seems to be in Sprite and Bose commercials.
Perfect timing, considering Minnesota's success in the playoffs.

I'm sure the Suns didn't expect to get swept in the first round Pretty shocking that they were the betting favorite. They had no stretches of dominance all season. I gave them a little respect that they could rise come the postseason. Booker I thought reached elite level last year and KD was great too. But if you were judging them as a team instead of those names then they've shown this level all year. When they could barely separate against our scrub 3rd stringers after getting hammered by our non Kawhi starters the day before in games they sorely needed I was about 90% sure they were toast. They're as stuck as Chuck in a pick up truck with this roster.

There's many cases where the regular season winner doesn't win the playoffs series. I posted a subset of that, which was teams that got swept in the regular season, but won the playoffs series against the same opponent, during the play-in games. There's even more cases where a team loses the series 3-1, 2-1, or other (when considering the pre Charlotte and Miami expansion era and teams could play each other 5 or 6 times). Sometimes a team does win a series because of matchups. I didn't think Phoenix had a matchup problem against Minnesota. Mainly Phoenix has only an average center, and Durant has been older and more inconsistent this year with shooting. With that said, I did pick Phoenix to win the final regular season game against Minnesota, mainly because I thought Phoenix would be a little more desperate, even though Minnesota also had seeding to play for. And that did happen. But once it was time for the playoffs, I felt Minnesota would play like they had been all year. My last game of the regular season prediction was here. The last line refers to me picking Phoenix in that final game. clippertalk.proboards.com/thread/2271/2023-season-interesting-games-events?page=29&scrollTo=63136

Pels were just swept by OKC. So Suns and Pels swept.

Pels were just swept by OKC. So Suns and Pels swept. In the past, I've predicted a lot of sweeps.
I don't remember if it was you or someone else, but someone said my predictions of so many sweeps was unrealistic. It might have been during one of the 2nd round years.
This year, I predicted no sweeps in the first round, the round with the most series. And we get two sweeps. Lol.
Whoever said my prediction of so many sweeps was unrealistic, I kept pointing back to the 2nd round of 2010, when we had 3/4 sweeps.
I thought that was going to happen again, at some point. If it was the 2nd round, I might have only predicted two sweeps and not 3. I think none of the sweeps I predicted whatever year someone said I had too many, happened.
