Why do you keep saying that? Walton's never coached a team to a 24-0 start or a 39-4. He was an ASSISTANT coach and did some fill-in work WITH MANY OTHERS while Kerr was recovering form an injury. And when given a head coach job, he's sucked. Christ he cannot even coach a team with the best player in the league to the playoffs! Your thinking is the same thinking the Lakers had - and they were wrong and are about to fire him over being wrong. Why oh why would you not learn the easy lesson they learned the hard way? Why would you be suckered like that?
The way I see it, is that Magic didn't surround the best player in the league with better players / players who fit better.
To be fair, I thought the Heat made similar bad moves, when they got rid of Damon Jones and Eddie Jones, and replaced them with Jason Williams, Gary Payton, and Antione Walker.
Even though they won the championship in 2005-2006, they did struggle a lot in the regular season, including an embarrassing TNT game against Dallas in February where they lost by 36.
Magic's moves are kind of reminiscent of that Heat team, but with less talent.
I give GMs credit when the team wins, and them blame when teams lose. I'm with Jerry Krause in "organizations win championship".
And OT, but Dennis Lindsey is still my current top GM. He didn't have a good trade deadline, though. I think a Rubio for Conley trade could have been had. He also could have gotten Jeremy Lin, Greg Monroe, or Milos Teodosic in the buyout market, but hasn't.

Your thinking is the same thinking the Lakers had - and they were wrong and are about to fire him over being wrong. Why oh why would you not learn the easy lesson they learned the hard way? Why would you be suckered like that? I’m saying that because he did as the fill-in for Kerr. If he couldn’t, Kerr would have left someone else in charge if he thought Luke couldn’t do it. Kerr not only was absent during games, but also practices. Sure, Kerr might have poked his head in once in a while to say hi, but Luke was in charge. The Lakers team that Luke joined lacked talent and had a dysfunctional front office. Then you add Magic, Lonzo and especially LaVar to the mix. LaVar Ball is basically the “you suck you jackass” guy in Happy Gilmore. That franchise is going down in flames and getting fired will probably be more of a favor to Luke. Even with LeBron James, this current Lakers is a terrible situation for any coach, including Pop. Given the right situation, I think Luke can prove to be a really good coach. Look, you won’t convince me otherwise. I don’t get paid by Ballmer to make personnel dicisions and I’m fore sure glad you’re not either(we’d be stuck in the mud after overpaying CP and Blake ;-) ). Go ahead and post your response, I will read it and that’s it. I think Shamet is an absolute steal, has unlimited potential and we’re lucky that our favorite basketball team has him.
I also agree that Walton should get a lot of credit for that start to the season.
I think that starting 5 is better than the current Warriors starting 5, because they were even better defensively. They also played as hard as any regular season team has done, during the regular season.
That team's DRTG was 103.8, the current Warriors are 110. The 103 rating is like what some of the best Spurs teams used to do.

Can't say anything about Porter Jr. right now, since he hasn't played a game; nor been healthy for a full season; nor played well.
But picking Jerome Robinson over Mitchell Robinson is looking like a bad missed pick, especially since the Clippers had 2 lottery picks.
And Jerome went in the 2nd round.
They could have had their defensive PG (Gilgeous-Alexander) and defensive center (Mitchell Robinson), if healthy, for the future.
And both have shown enough on offense too, IMO.

A lot of teams missed on Mitchell Robinson. He sat out an entire year and teams saw that as a red flag.
