Do you guys think he will be a good pro?
To me, he seems to have the same risks as Anthony Bennett--an undersized PF. The dunks look great on Sports Center, but anyone 6'9" or taller will be able to shut him down in the paint.

He's going to have a Blake Griffin like career. His best years will be early on but eventually all that weight he carries will ruin his knees.

I used to love Duke guys for the NBA. But no more. They always look better in college than they end up as in the NBA. Coach K can get the best from college players for college ball, but that doesn't always translate to the best NBA player. Brand, Hill, Battier, Deng, Boozer, Maggette, Irving, Redick, all good players who never achieved real greatness in the NBA despite looking like they would or could.

Come on. Grant Hill was one of the best players in the league until he got injured. Irving helped lead the Cavs to a championship (and no Lebron didn't do it himself although he gets most of the credit). Boozer was very good for the Jazz. Battier was solid on the Grizzlies and Heat. Brand was a great player in 2006. So I would rate Brand and Hill as being great until they got injured. Irving, Battier, Boozer all star caliber. Maggette and Redick as solid rotation players. So Duke has a fine record of producing NBA players.
If this guy Williamson develops a jumpshot he is going to be great. I think wing player like small forward or shooting guard. Probably a top five pick in the draft for sure.

I agree they produce good players. I just don't think he will be "instant superstar" or even "ever superstar". Possible all-star, but I don't think superstar is in the cards.

As hard as it is to believe, Zion's explosiveness is miles ahead of College Blake. BG's biggest problem was the lack of wingspan and was easily rattled. Zion's wing span is 6'10" with a 45 inch vert at 270 lbs at the age of 18 as a lefty. That is Elton Brand with .001 percentile in the world athleticism. At the age of 18, Zion is more of an athletic freak than Prime-LeBron. LeBron's size was supposed to lead to knee and ankle injuries, yet he's one of the most durable athletes in all of professional sports. Zion is taking the torch from Lebron and it's not even close.

And since he is 18, he might STILL have more growing to do. In 2-3 years, the NBA might have a 6'9" 300 lb left handed freak with a 45+ inch vert with a somewhat respectable jump shot on their hands.

I was not a fan of Bagley because I thought he was just an athletic prospect, but Zion's athleticism and size is so dominant he may be different. I don't see any chance of a Bennet type career, but he may struggle a bit when teams try to take away his physical advantages and make him beat them with skill. I have faith that he'll figure that part out though

Zion is skilled though. He can pass, facilitate, dribble, just isn't a good shooter yet.

Nice that he has developed a 3 point shot. At his size, that is mandatory if he wants to get back to the league.
