TWolves by 4.5. Not sure what to make of this Clippers team with all the recent trades. At Detroit we clamped down the defense and made up a lot of ground in the second half of the game. Ditto at Charlotte. Then with a bunch of new guys we still managed to play good D at Boston and make up a ton of ground in the second half. So why don't we play good D in the first halves of games so we don't have to make big comebacks? At Boston they were hitting their three pointers in the first half at we were letting them shoot open shots. Then we tighten up on the shooters and they stop hitting those shots.
Tonight we need to contain Towns in the paint. We do that and I am guessing we can win despite all of the roster changes. TWolves a major disappointment this year. They were supposed to be a playoff team. Covington and Saric have to start producing more for them to make a run at the playoffs. And the run has to start tonight against us or there isn't going to be a run. They are going to fight like hell to win this game and their home crowd will be cheering them on. So this is a real test to see if we are a real playoff contender or not. Let's hope we can hang with them in the first half and then let Lou and Harrell win it for us in the second half. Towns is the one guy I don't think Harrell can shoot the ball over. See if Towns is tough enough to keep Harrell away from the rim and dominating the post.

I lived in Minnesota and went to several TWolves games. It isn't much of a home crowd.

Has any team in the history of the NBA EVER come back from 25 points or more twice in the same season, let alone twice in the same WEEK? I'm hoping our fortunes this evening favour us early so we won't need an insane comeback( granted, they are fun to watch!)

I hate to say "must win" but we have 25 games left, and need to win about 16 of those to make the playoffs, and the only realistic way to do that is to beat all the teams below us in the standings, which includes this T-Wolves game.
So, we need a win. That, or we'd have to replace a loss with a win against a much better team than they are, like the Nuggets in Denver. Which is a far harder win than this one would be. So, let's win this one!

The Kings came back from down 19 points in back to back games, earlier in the season. If a team can do that down 19, then I think 25 points in a season has probably been done before the Clippers.

The team is going to have some off-nights where things just don't work like they'd planned. If they have those off nights against the Warriors or Nuggets, no biggie as those are expected losses. But if they have those off nights against the Suns or T-Wolves, it's a real issue. We're going to face the Kings once more and Lakers twice more, and allowing for the room to lose one or more of those games really depends on winning games like the two games we have left against the T-Wolves. Here's how the remaining games are "supposed" to play out right now (green is win, red is loss, yellow is close). Of course it won't play out perfectly this way as I can see us losing to a team like the Nets and winning against a team like the Celtics, but based on wins/losses right now this is what it looks like.

The TWolves absolutely need to win tonight. We just kind of need to win. But who knows what will happen after the Boston shocker. Lou is on his game and we have a good chance. He was off in Boston and we still won thanks to Shamet and Beverley having great games to replace his points. Our team is still sky high after that comeback so we may have some momentum.

Wellllllll shit. Now we will need to pick up a game against a better team to make up for this loss.

Lou was a beast. Gallo was off and defense overall terrible.

Zubac was plus/minus a -35. That is terrible. He got like 1 rebound and the TWolves had a field day in the paint when he was playing. I told you waiving Gortat was a sure sign that we were tanking. Gortat plays and we most likely win this game. A side not is our reserves scored 89 points. Most since 1982. Which means our starters only scored 31 which is terrible. Beverley, Zubac, Temple all had terrible games. Gallinari and Shai both had bad games. They torched our starters at the start of the third quarter and after that there was too big of a hole for our reserves to dig themselves out of. Lou played brilliantly in the loss with his 45 points.
Blame the front office for this one. Harris and Gortat being out. Even Scott is a lot better than Temple. Face it. We may win 12 or 13 more games with this team but I don't think our front office even wants us to make the playoffs. But Lou and Beverley are going to do whatever is necessary to try and get us there.

www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=401071518Well read the box score. Look at Zubac's numbers. He obviously does not match up against Towns and the TWolves were ready for him. Temple was horrible at -32 plus/minus too. Gortat could have done a lot better than this and we easily could have waived Thornwell to keep him on the roster. This loss was inflicted because we are tanking. Even Motley could have done a lot better. Not to say we should not have gotten Zubac. I like the guy. He just isn't ready to play big minutes in a playoff drive yet. Gortat is a vet who plays hard and can set screens and box out. He should have stayed on the roster if we were really trying for the playoffs.

I really don't get why we keep Thornwell around, he hasn't shown much of anything aside from some good summer league games.
