Warriors and Nuggets tied for first place. I looked at the Warriors schedule and there is not much resistance there. Denver's schedule is tougher. It could go either way but I think the Warriors finish as the first seed.

OKC has lost 3 in a row and they are 5-10 over their last 15 games. They play Toronto twice over their next two games
Clippers, one game behind them, are 12-4 with this team as presently constituted (not counting the loss to Indiana on the day of the trade). I’m thinking Clippers in the 7th seed ahead of them.
I'm pretty sure if Gallo had played against Portland, that game would have been a W and the Clippers would be occupying the 5th seed today. Oh well... Woulda, coulda...

OKC has 3 losses in a row now, and this last one was to the Heat. It wasn't even close. They have only one game on us. We've played them 4 times, splitting the series 2-2. We're not in the same division so I think it then goes to Conference record - which is also tied right now. They're about to play the Raptors twice, and Nuggets in 10 days. They have a harder Strength of Schedule than ours as well. OKC has lost 3 in a row and they are 5-10 over their last 15 games. Sacramento is done after blowing a 28 point lead against the Nets last night. And at home to boot. We win three more games and we are in even if they go 12 and 0. Lakers will be eliminated with one more loss. As will the TWolves. It is looking very much like 41 might actually be the right number of wins to make the playoffs. Which was not even one of the available choices.

This has to be one of the tightest playoff races of all time. 3-8 is basically up for grabs. Nuggets and Warriors fighting for 1st seed. This is exciting.

Wow Thunder fall to 8 seed on a 4 game losing streak, did not see that coming. Can't believe the 5 seed is actually in play for us, crazy.
Looking at the schedules, Utah is in the driver's seat, their schedule is incredibly easy. Thunder have the most difficult schedule out of the four teams.
I'm guessing we finish as the 7th seed.

Raptors beat Thunder in OT I'm surprised it went to OT. Raptors were killing the Thunder through the 3rd quarter.

Jazz lost. Four way tie. I can't even decipher how the ties would be broken, as we were ahead of Thunder yesterday, behind them today, with no change to either team? I think nobody knows (we tied even on conference record and are not in the same division) and they just listed a 4 way tie because fuck, it will change tomorrow anyway.

I thought Jazz, Spurs, and Portland all have tiebreakers against us? I don't know about OKC - yesterday ESPN put us ahead of them but now they put us behind them? If all the games on Friday play out like they are predicted (OKC lose, SA lose, Clips win) we will temporarily be the 5 seed.

I think tie breakers work differently when there are more than two teams tied with each other.

In the event two or more teams are tied in the standings, a series of tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.
Two-Team Tiebreaker: 1. Better record in head-to-head games 2. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division) 3. Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Higher winning percentage in conference games 5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 6. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference 7. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed
Three-Team Tiebreaker: 1. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division) 2. Best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied 3. Highest winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Highest winning percentage in conference games 5. Highest winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 6. Highest point differential between points scored and points allowed
