We get the rare full strength game against another contender. Seems like either one of our guys or the other teams guys has been missing lately any time we get a prime match up. Kawhi we now know is on a b2b min restriction. I still consider Suns a contender. They're very thin, but they're starting 5 is very solid. Allen's been a great role guy for them. They have a very weak 7-12, but when they're at full strength which they've barely been this year I think they'll be tough.

So far we're playing fairly well. A bit sloppy but so are the Suns.

A little bit disappointed watching this game. Kawhi being aggressive George being aggressive and in control. But couldn’t do it last night

Well, we destroy the Suns, like we destroyed the Pels.

A little bit disappointed watching this game. Kawhi being aggressive George being aggressive and in control. But couldn’t do it last night Last night was a very strange game for this team. It wasn't just missed shots, it was just all our guys were off which has barely happened since they've played together. I know Lakers fans are crowing about how their defense did that to us, but Kawhi has had plenty of monster games against them in the past so not buying that. That was one of those games where if you stole it, it'd be one of those where you're happy for the win but know you got away with one.

Well, we destroy the Suns, like we destroyed the Pels. I won't bury the Suns yet. I do think we're the better team but it looks like early season post trade Harden Clips for them right now. Guys still figuring out their roles, I'd expect them to trade for a point guard. When we had scorers initiating, we'd have games where it was fine but you have to rely on so much great shot making and you can never get on real streaks that way. Btw, Paul George was good in this game but he needs to consistently drive every game more. It's a credit to how talented he is that his shooting %'s don't suck, but he shoots so many step back jumpers when he has mismatches.

I was happy to see Mann's shot starting to fall.

Yeah now you pretty much can't do anything against the Clippers starters. He's not going to get too many more games before teams adjust, but we'll have counters to teams guarding him now.

I still think we are missing a power forward, and I still would have preferred to keep Robert Covington over Terrence Mann. But I am glad to see Mann's shot is falling again.

Lue didn't like Covington for whatever reason. He refused to give him the playing time that others thought he deserved. Batum would have been helpful to keep. Mann is still a trade asset though. I don't think Batum or Covington would be much of trade assets.

I don't think Batum or Covington would be much of trade assets. I agree. I don't think Lue would've played Covington, who's also fallen out of the main rotation in Philly too for whatever that's worth. I liked Covington more than the coaches usually seem to, but I def wouldn't have taken him over Mann who also can be a piece for the remaining prime years of our core players. 1 more PF would be nice, but not at the expense of messing too much with what we have. Also, what is a PF anymore? There's like 3-4 different archetypes for that position now. There's the Sabonis type, extremely skilled all around offense and rebounder but defensively is a huge liability. Siakam, another good offensive all around player but bad 3 point shot to work around. Aaron Gordon, probably one of my favorite types, really athletic and great defender. Can score at the rim too. 3 point shot is passable sometimes but can come and go. Jerami Grant is probably somewhat in the same mold, but miscast on bad teams as more of a scorer than he would be for us. Both these guys can defend inside and on the perimeter so they have a lot of value imo. Olynyk, great shooter and rebounder. Can play some 5, but wouldn't be able to protect the paint. More of a luxury guy off the bench imo. I would say the Sabonis/Siakam types are way out of our price range, but also their skills would be pretty unnecessary on this team. I don't even know if we could get the other guys (obv we def couldn't get Gordon since the Nuggets wouldn't trade him to us) for what they'll go for or if we can find the lower budget versions of them. Harrison Barnes maybe? So it's like the skilled bigger bodied 4's who can't guard the perimeter or the oversized SF's that lack elsewhere.

We have no one to guard Aaron Gordon. Pg, Kawhi or even Harden (he's not bad against bigger guys) should be able to guard him. Porter isn't really a match up problem even though he's big, just close out on the 3. Mann starts on Murray and PG/Russ/Kawhi probably take turns on him as well.
