If they're announcing this I'm reading it as this is gonna be months. January at the absolute earliest and probably a max of 35-40 games this season.

I already suspected he'd be in single figures games played by the start of 2025, at best.

I think it was pretty obvious to everyone that he was going to be out a long time. Really stupid on the part of the Clippers not to trade him last February. Even if he's able to go, let's say by Thanksgiving, I would make him a "healthy" scratch until early March. That's the only possible way he might be able to play in the playoffs.

We don’t even know if this is accurate and it doesn’t state a timeline.

We don’t even know if this is accurate and it doesn’t state a timeline. We do know it's accurate (Shams) and the entire announcement IS the timeline. That's what "indefinite" is, the timeline is unknown because he's out indefinitely.

The Sixers have the clippers 28 pick unprotected and a 29 swap…..those two assets are gold

The Sixers have the clippers 28 pick unprotected and a 29 swap…..those two assets are gold The 29 swap isn't gold. Sixers are just the Clippers-East. They're basically one year behind us. Embid just announced he will never play a back to back game again. PG is already injured, minor now but we know how this goes. Lowry, Eric Gordon, Drummond, Reggie, Martin, all those players will be gone probably next year. They have Maxey and he's good and young. But by the time 2029 comes around, I wouldn't be surprised if they prefer to keep their own pick over taking ours. They could really suck by 2028 and we could be on our next upswing.

My point is indefinite doesn’t necessarily mean months and just because it comes from his sources doesn’t necessarily mean that his sources are correct.

Shams is about the only gold level information left in the NBA. Brian Shaw basically confirmed this all yesterday. Sure he could be back in a matter of weeks, but they're already saying Harden will be enough to "tread water" until Kawhi is back. That doesn't sound like he's out a week or two.

We don’t even know if this is accurate and it doesn’t state a timeline. Do we need to know if this is accurate? Is anyone surprised? I'll be unpleasantly surprised if Kawhi plays a single game this season.

Remember when the team tried to tell us he could be back in the playoffs if we got far enough. And when the team tried to tell us he was healthy with the national team this summer, but the national team let him go stating health concerns. I am not sure I trust anything the team says about his status at this point. It's either medical team incompetence or they are lying or a combination of both. Now that they are stating it will be indefinite, I feel it will be pretty long and possibly the majority of the season, if not the entire season.

The team is straight up lying about this. Maybe to sell more season tickets who knows. But it is a disservice to the fans.
