Pelicans -6.5. O/U 239. So we get a high scoring game tonight if the bookies are right. Guys can't play defense anymore because of the new rule changes. So says Lebron in last night's postgame interview. And I heard Ralph mention it too. Apparently, defenders can't manhandle guys in the post anymore. They have to keep their hands off. So it leads to much easier baskets in the paint. Benefits players like Boban and apparently LaMarcus Aldridge last night. And maybe Gallo and Harris will benefit from this too if they get in the post. Anyway, nobody on our team can guard Davis regardless of what the rules are. So we have to contain Mirotic and Holiday to be competitive in this one. Don't expect us to win but I hope we keep it close. Will miss the game due to it being in direct competition with the World Series. And no I won't watch it delayed. I guess Friday's game will be a problem too for the same reason.

Of their two starting wings who's going to guard Gallo? E'Twaun Moore? Elfid Payton? Both these guys are 6'4".

Watch for Elfrid Payton. I have my eye on him, and he's on my fantasy team. I think he will be surprisingly good.

4:19 left. Where is Boban? Why is Bradley getting so many minutes? Not a fan of this 3 guard lineup.

Frustrating game because I thought a lot of guys played well, we shot 47% from the field, but one bad stretch in the 3rd killed us. In the 4th we would make some runs and get close, but then we'd do a bunch of stupid mistakes. Lots of turnovers.
The Good
Beverley finally showed up. 12/10/8 Nearly a triple double. He was just straight up making hustle plays and being disruptive on defense.
Tobias and Gallo continue to be steady scoring options. A combined 50 from them tonight.
Trez is our most dependable big man. Probably should be our starting center.
The Bad
Gortat was just useless. Did nothing for 12 minutes. AD ran circles around him.
Bradley was god awful. Not only is he a negative on offense but provides nothing as far as rebounds and assists. Tonight even his defense was bad.
Boban needs a longer leash. Yeah, he was bad but one minute is not enough.

I thought SGA played well, but a little too passive at times. Passed up some open jump shots.

This game badly needed more Boban, and less Bradley.
And Smoothie Center is a top 3 worst arena name in basketball.

LOL at our centers. Harris was playing center the last five minutes of the game. It was Gallo, Tobias, Beverley, Lou, and SGA on the court to try and beat the Pelicans. Which was no doubt our best lineup against them. LOL at Beverley being the one guarding Anthony Davis and forcing him into a terrible three pointer by putting a body on him. Every time I switched to the game in the second half it was Harrell playing center up until the last five minutes. Yes Bradley and Gortat sucked this game and that is one of the big reasons why we lost. But I liked the way we played hard and kept the score close for most of the game. Good coaching by Doc. Shows how good Gallo can be if he is healthy. And how bad we would be if he gets injured again. We did hold Holiday to having a terrible shooting night which really helped. Of course Payton hit a huge three to put the game away for them at the end.
Conclusion from this game is that if we can stay healthy we can compete with most teams. But our Gortat, Boban, and Harrell tandem of centers is not very good. I assume Boban did not play because he can't run with Davis or Mirotic and he could not guard anybody. Not quite sure what Doc's strategy is with him going forward.

Concerning Boban, How did Yao Ming stay with defenders? He put so much pressure on teams with his offense that they had to adjust their lineups to the Rockets. The leash is to short on Boban.

Doc gave Boban ONE MINUTE. Fuck that. That's not a demonstration he cannot keep up. he would have been better than Bradley.

Doc really needs to figure out the right role for Bradley, he is obviously not playing well right now. Maybe time for Ty Wallace to get some run. Don't know if Robinson is ready for the big leagues yet.
