Thank You, God, For That Doc Interview. And While You're On A Roll, How About A New Bike? (That Retro Bonneville Would Be Great). Is Triumph your preferred brand, over Honda, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Kawasaki? Started with an old Ducati scrambler. Great bike (when it ran, which wasn't often), then a boring Honda, then a Norton P11, and finally a Harley sportster. Realizing that I was not as skilled rider as some of my friends, and knowing how hard the pavement is (my favorite spill was a somersault over the handle bars with the bike doing a complete flip), I finally gave it up a half-century ago for sailing, something, at least in my experience, considerably safer.

Ummm wow. RoCo, Morris, Batum, KJ Martin, a first round unprotected 2028 pick, two second round picks, a pick swap, and another pick from a third team being routed to the Sixers from OKC "The Clippers are sending the Thunder owned 2026 LAC first-round pick to the Sixers, per @shamscharania. It’s unclear what the Clippers will send to OKC for the pick." Seems to be no other players involved so really unclear what we did with OKC to get them to send that 2026 pick.
Sixers also sending us PJ Tucker.
Wow.
So all our PFs in one drop. But no Mann, and we didn't send our own second pick.

I suspect at some point Balmer must have told the front office he will spend whatever money he needs to spend to keep the Clippers loaded with stars and superstars over the years, and that he does not look to ever build a team through drafts. So I suspect the reason Kawhi and PG haven’t signed their extensions is because the only way they can re-sign Harden without his bird rights is to wait until summer when the books clear, sign Harden first while they’re under the cap, and then use bird rights to bring back Kawhi and PG. How do I know all that? I don’t. I just suspect…

I remember reading this summer that Kawhi has never signed an extension. He has always waited to hit free agency.

I see words like "when it ran, which wasn't often" and "boring". Which of these was a James Harden? Ducati doesn't fit because you also said "great". Honda doesn't fit because those are reliable. I've heard that Harleys are overpriced with old technology. Is that the Harden?

You have someone that's been playing like a dawg for the Clippers, in Westbrook. And someone that's been playing like a dog, in Harden.

I wouldn't know, since I haven't ridden in decades, but Harley's were old tech even when I rode (the Sportster still had a manual spark advance!). If I had to compare Harden to a ride, I wouldn't use my bikes, which were way too much fun. I'd say he's like the 2000 Nissan Altima I was given by a friend, which rarely ran well, and one day rolled into some jackstands at the boatyard and got more or less crushed by an old creaking cabin cruiser.

mistwell , samiam19 is asking for an apology. I suggest that if you decide to make one, don't tell him it's a joke or not to take one seriously. He is? Where? I sincerely apologize Sam. I get you don't like where you're stuck living, and I feel for yah man. Didn't realize my joke was as personal as it was. Sorry about that. I will try hard to not make those Vegas jokes anymore. Please come back. The place wouldn't be the same without you. Just posting an update on this. samiam19 is happy with the apology. However he had other things he didn't like about the forum, and those were hindering him from re-joining. Judging by his still extended absence, it appears the negatives outweighed the positives, so that's why he has not rejoined. It's too bad, because I've been wondering his thoughts on various sports topics for about the past 3 months.

Someone can still have an informed opinion by reading and listening to content that covers the league.

Someone can still have an informed opinion by reading and listening to content that covers the league. The point of a discussion board is just that, discussion, communication. He was hindering communication. He was mostly a troll. The vast majority of his posts, if not all of them, were trolling posts, designed to stir up squabbles and quarrels. He explicitly and repeatedly said so himself. I couldn’t count the number of times he injected himself into a perfectly interesting and civilized discussion with some sort of toxic comment to derail it. He did that with pride and delight. I suspect I am perhaps one of the reasons he left because I often called him on it. If that’s true, I am sorry about that, I would have preferred he stick around and just try to be more civil and communal. But I guess that was of no interest to him.

He resigned, he didn't sign an extension. He opted out of his contract and resigned. An extension is something you can sign before you are a free agent.

How do I know all that? I don’t. I just suspect… I think you're more on the right track than you think. The team, Kawhi and PG all were pretty casual about extension talks and we've known about the Harden possibilities for a while also knowing he wants a max extension. I think the FO has always been straight up and vice versa. There may have been speculation, but I think the team has always been 100% on seeing it through with Kawhi and PG and figuring out how to keep it going. And I think they've been pretty set on staying here. You don't hear anything about those guys connected to other teams.
