Is Triumph your preferred brand, over Honda, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Kawasaki? Started with an old Ducati scrambler. Great bike (when it ran, which wasn't often), then a boring Honda, then a Norton P11, and finally a Harley sportster. Realizing that I was not as skilled rider as some of my friends, and knowing how hard the pavement is (my favorite spill was a somersault over the handle bars with the bike doing a complete flip), I finally gave it up a half-century ago for sailing, something, at least in my experience, considerably safer. I don't think I ever got an answer as to why you thought the Honda was boring.
Just wanted to hear your explanation.

Well, it always started (even had an electric starter, which in my opinion is an abomination). And was well-built, so you never had to work on it (not the case w/ any other bike I owned). THe lights always worked. Handling was ok but meh. But mainly, it just didn't look as cool as any of the other ones.

Unlike the BSA I bought in the UK and drove all over Europe after graduating college. Now that baby sounded like a damn motorcycle!

That is really cool that dane and corkscrew are both motorcycle riders! Maybe we need a ClipperTalkRebelMotorcycleClub Thread.

I don't ride anymore. I blew the engine on my Harley (a very amusing story that I don't have time to tell here), replaced the heads and one of the pistons (got it in backwards the first time; Harley tolerances in those days let it still run), felt very proud of myself and took it for a spin. During that ride, I had the revelation that motorcycle riding is a VERY dangerous activity (you really can't ride if you feel that way). I drove home, put a for sale sign on it, and haven't ridden since.
