I don’t think anything happens with Harden until Lillard’s situation is resolved. Sixers still want him and don’t want to restrict their options. Unless it is all part of one big deal.

There's no fucking way Boston is the hold up. Morey also seems to be being petty here, he can probably do more to improve the roster if he does it sooner rather than the limited options he'd have in September by trying to squeeze the most he can out of a trade. He's probably on a bit of a hot seat here. But I agree that Lillard is probably the piece that will need to shake out first and I think Morey is trying to see what he can get from other teams to give Portland the best offer, but he doesn't have the leverage he thinks he has with Harden. What other team is going to offer much for him after he's requested this many trades? The only thing he may get is a decent player that another team doesn't want/or doesn't want to be there anymore and therefore willing to trade for 1 year of unhappy Harden.

The good thing about Harden he stays healthy. Plus he’s a great passer. Does handle the ball much better than George.

The Clippers have been reluctant to include Terance Mann and draft capital in any potential trade package to the Sixers for James Harden, per @zachlowe_NBA

Yes agree. Maybe something like what the Lakers gave up for D'Angelo would be fair. Bones or Coffey or Boston would be ok to include.

I'd love to get Harden for nothing but expirings, but I'm not sure Philly's going to do it if we don't give them something to feel good about. Would another team be willing to trade one of their unhappy stars for Harden even if he doesn't want to go there? Unlikely, and I like that we're using our leverage but Morey also showed if he can't get the trade he wants he'll just sit on the player. I even saw a report that we wouldn't even be willing to put Boston in the deal, which I doubt, but if that's the case we're hard balling the shit out of them.

Does Embid want all the drama of having an unhappy and unwilling Harden around? Besides he got Harden for Simmons. The whole league knows Harden will be 33 and looking to get paid again next year. Don’t give up any assets or draft capital for him. Hold tight.

Probably a negotiation tactic, but they could be waiting to see how the Lillard situation shakes out.

Harden staying another year in Philly might be a better option for them than some combination of Morris/Powell/Covington/Batum. Clippers have to give them some incentive that is better than Harden staying in Philly. Maybe Bones and/or a protected first can do it, combined with taking one of their contracts.

Harden will cause problems. He needs to be traded for what we offer. Mann, MorrisSr, Powell & RoCo.
